Assistant Professor (tenure track) Positions in Ecology

The Asian School of the Environment (ASE, https://www.ntu.edu.sg/ase) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore seeks to appoint several Assistant Professors (tenure track) in tropical ecology. We broadly welcome applications across all areas of tropical ecology. This can include, but is not limited to, forest ecology, marine ecology, biodiversity research, conservation ecology, soil ecology, or plant or animal ecology.

Successful candidates should demonstrate the potential to build a world-class research programme and a commitment to education and mentorship of students, and to meaningfully contribute to our ambitions to have societal and environmental impact in Singapore and the surrounding region. They will teach within ASE at both undergraduate and at postgraduate levels. Job Responsibilities:

• Perform system data entries and related functions for customers and ”Internal Warehouse Management System” (iWMS)
• Coordinate with customers and internally for Operation and inventory-related matters
• Ensure all paperwork, system, and filing is completed on time and accurately
• Plan and follow up on Orders to ensure on-time delivery
• Maintain accurate and updated inventory records
• Generate accurate billing invoices, inventory reports, and related reports as per the required deadline

● Responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and food
quality with proper housekeeping and high standard of cleanliness and
hygiene maintained at all times.
● Train and supervise kitchen staff including roster planning.
● Good management of food cost and food wastage.
● Regularly review the menu with good understanding of consumers’ preference and taste.
● Ensure that the kitchen and banquet adhere to all company policies, procedures and standards.
● Any other job duties as assigned by the superior.

1. Main duties (as Driver):

• Send documents such as reports, invoices to customers.
• Collect or deliver samples to customers or vendors.
• Send or pick up colleagues from site jobs.
• Be responsible for good working condition of the vehicle.
• Cannot drive vehicle back home.

2. Secondary Duties (as Warehouse Assistant)

• Collect samples from Customers
• Loading and unloading of the metal samples by using a forklift
• Allocate and prepare samples (unboxing, repositioning, labelling) for the next process.
• Verify sample identification matches the client request or client documentation
• Send/ collect the samples to or from the workshop
• Set up a good storage place and system to track samples
• Proper labeling and storage of samples from Customers
• Prepare sample to be returned - wrap and pack samples
• Liaise with Test Dept to consolidate tested specimens for return to Customers
• Other ad-hoc duties as required by the head of department

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Have a class 3 Driving license
• Have at least 1 year of relevant working experience
• Preferably with a forklift license (added advantage but not compulsory)
• A keen learner with good communication skills
• Customer-orientated and attentive to details
• Able to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Can-do attitude (willing to go the extra mile in fulfilling the assigned task)
