Global Financial Crimes (GFC)

Coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. GFC has responsibility for governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption, Anti-Tax Evasion, and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs.

Primary Responsibilities

The Sanctions Compliance Officer (SCO) will be responsible for providing economic sanctions related business and programmatic advice in support of the Morgan Stanley Global Sanctions Program, including oversight of APAC based businesses.

The SCO will be part of a team of financial crimes specialists collectively responsible for compliance and regulatory matters pertaining to economic sanctions programs adhered to under the Firm's Global Sanctions Policy, including the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), His Majesty's Treasury of the United Kingdom's Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI), the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and the Council of the European Union (EU Council), as well as regional regulatory authorities including but not limited to, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, China, Australia, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, and South Korea.

Specific job responsibilities include:

Qualifications

> Strong academic credentials.

Your skills and experience:

• Comprehensive experience in risk-based auditing and a clear understanding of the relationship between IT risk and underlying business risk.
• Understanding of the banking regulatory environment.
• Proven stakeholder and people management skills, including remote team member management capabilities. Able to work in virtual, global teams in a matrix organization, transfer knowledge, and develop the capability of team members.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and structured thought process with the ability to clearly articulate control deficiencies and related risk. Flexible, proactive, and innovative mindset with strong organizational skills to take ownership and responsibility for agreed targets and deliver them within agreed budgets to enable a timely and efficient completion of audit projects.
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and prioritize workload.
• Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, or equivalent qualification in the areas of information security, project management, or process/quality management would be an advantage, but not a must.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a Technology-related field (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.

• Team member in audit engagements, which include planning, executing risk based financial and operational audits and completing audit statutory financial audits.
