As a Senior Compliance Officer within Nanhua asset management SG team, you will ensure that all business activities align with local and international regulatory requirements, supporting the company’s compliance management framework. You will work closely with internal business develop team and operation team to ensure compliance with asset management industry regulations, and providing compliance and risk guidance on policies and procedures.

Job Description

• Identify and keep abreast with all compliance requirements with MAS;
• Maintenance and implementation of Company’s Compliance policies and procedures, including AML/CFT Manual, Outsourcing, TRM, Compliance Manual;
• Partner with stakeholders in managing the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERM), ensure relevance to changing business needs and landscape;
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all internal processes and policies;
• Conduct compliance audit regularly and suggest measures to improve efficacy of processes;
• Continuously evaluate internal processes and institute improvements;
• Point-of-Contact for all compliance requirements and obligations in Singapore, with internal and external stakeholders;
• Coordinate and liaise with regulatory authorities on enquiries, licensing matters, reporting, inspection, or investigations;
• Prepare and ensure ongoing compliance with MAS regulatory and filing requirements;
• Perform AML/CDD/KYC checks as well as name screening on newly onboarded clients as well as ongoing review of existing clients;
• Provide training to employees on compliance topics, enhancing their awareness and understanding of policies to ensure company-wide adherence to compliance standards.
• Other compliance responsibilities and operational support work

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g. ICA, ACAMS) are a plus.
• 3-5 years of working experience in a compliance, external audit, governance environment, with at least 2 years in a standalone or lead compliance role;
• Solid experience and knowledge of Singapore regulations as well as good understanding of MAS regime;
• Experience building compliance frameworks and policies from scratch will be advantageous;
• Strong command of English and Mandarin to liaise with stakeholders in Singapore and China office;
• Prior experience working in Fund Management or Private Wealth Management is preferred;
• Have strong sense of ownership spirit, and able to work independently

The Chief Executive Officer will be a member of the Law Society’s C-Suite and will report directly to the Executive Director of the Law Society. The key responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer are as follows:

• Works closely with the Executive Director and other members of the C-suite to execute decisions made by the Council and/or the Executive Committee.
• Offers advice and guidance on stakeholder engagement matters to the President, Council, and/or Executive Committee.
• Liaises and engages with external stakeholders and foreign counterparts in a manner consistent with the Law Society’s mission.
• Leads or oversees the organising of conferences and seminars, initiatives and activities with foreign counterparts and key stakeholders.
• Provides leadership together with the Executive Director and other members of the C-suite.

Requirements

• Appropriate tertiary (or higher) qualifications in an area such as Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, Law or Public Policy
• Ability to manage, develop and lead multi-disciplinary teams with sound policy development
• Ability to promptly develop, drive and execute a strategic plan with appropriate report presentation
• Possess relevant experience in supporting committees and boards
• Experience in management of not-for-profit or membership-based organisations will be advantageous

Role and Responsibilities

• To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions
• Work closely with internal departments and external vendors to resolve any payment issues or discrepancies if any
• To assist senior financial officers as needed or other accounting duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager
• Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
• Review and process employee expense reports
• Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry on monthly basis and submit to Account Manager
• Execute credit card and bank account reconciliation
• Generate purchase orders when necessary
• Obtain and print signatures on all checks
• Process and code invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience in Finance. Associate’s degree or background in business or equivalent.
• Experience in accounts receivable (or accounts payable)
• Experience in driving process improvement
• Strong mathematical skills
• Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
• Superb time management and detail orientation
