ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

In anticipation of future bids and projects in Defence and Public Security sectors, Engineering Department requires system engineers who has a track record of building, deploying and maintaining the IT infrastructure in an enterprise environment. Domain knowledge in enterprise data networks and/or cybersecurity is desirable.

The System Engineer is to assist with IT infrastructure solutions according to project requirements and drive transformation for internal/external customers by adopting established platforms. The candidate will be involved with the requirements gathering, preparation of proposals, and conduct of presentations to customers or system owners. Upon confirmation of projects, the candidate is expected to take on an active role in the definition, procurement, deployment and operations of the necessary IT infrastructure covering but not limited to server hardware, virtualisation middleware, operating system and backup solution etc. Where necessary, the candidate may be tasked to support data networking initiatives, cybersecurity implementations and other COTS deployment depending on the candidate’s technical background and interests. As an IT Infrastructure System Engineer, you are accountable for:

b) The detailed duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

i) Study and fully understand the ISO requirements, technical drawings, scope, contractual requirements and sub-contract agreements. Work with the consultants to resolve technical issues prior to construction.

ii) Submit to superior for feedback and concurrence on short or medium-term programmes and execute the works according to the detailed programme.

vi) Responsible for cost management so that the materials used for both temporary works and permanent works are not damaged or control the wastage within specified tolerance. Rework or abortive work which has serious time and cost impacts shall be avoided.

vii) Ad-hoc matters as assigned by the PM which is necessary for the execution of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Work within a cross-functional team of robotics scientists and engineers to develop next- generation autonomous mobile robots (AMR)
• Design, develop, prototype, integrate and test advanced robotic mechatronic system and sub-system (sensing, manipulation, control, human-interaction, etc…)
• AMR setup, integration, programming and testing using different brands of mobile robots and mobile manipulators, including proprietary robots
• Providing hands-on on-site support for mechatronic system development, integration, testing and troubleshooting of AMR platforms

Project managment:
