Our client, a leading provider of advanced maritime technology and automation systems, is seeking a Service Engineer to support their regional and global customers. This role focuses on providing field service, commissioning, and technical support for integrated control monitoring systems (ICMS) and propulsion/steering control systems. Candidates with hands-on experience in main engine and thruster operations will have an added advantage.
The position involves onboard services, project commissioning, remote support, and contributing to backend knowledge sharing to support the field service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver customer support, commissioning, and service for the assigned product range in maritime automation systems.
- Provide technical support and maintain strong relationships with clients across Southeast Asia.
- Perform workshop testing and technical preparations before service deployment.
- Ensure proper preparation and execution of assigned tasks, meeting performance expectations consistently.
- Generate detailed service reports, update technical documentation such as drawings and cable information, and maintain records accurately.
- Offer remote guidance and product support to customers while managing refit/retrofit project commissioning.
- Support the service team with backend technical expertise and assist the sales department with technical inquiries.
- Manage administrative duties, including pre- and post-service documentation, and handle ad hoc assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation.
- 3-5 years of field experience in alarm monitoring and control systems, with solid knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and basic software applications.
- Familiarity with maritime automation systems, propulsion systems, distributed control systems, and power management.
- Prior experience in the maritime industry is essential.
- Strong skills in teamwork, communication, project management, and customer service.
- Ability to approach remote case handling with a meticulous and methodical mindset.
- Self-motivated and resourceful in finding solutions to technical challenges.
- Willingness to travel internationally on short notice.
