What you’ll do as a Solutions Engineer

You are the technical lynchpin through the entire sales cycle - pre and post sales. You will work closely with our mid-market prospects and customers to educate, empower, and ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform. Your technical expertise in Cloudflare’s global distributed network and technology will allow you to find best-fit solutions for prospects, to train and onboard new customers via video-conference or in person, through documentation, and to support the long-term success of the customer. As a subject matter expert on web/mobile security and performance, you are a trusted source for developing new firewall rules from log files, crafting performance caching and delivery strategies, and creating or repurposing internal tools and scripts for customers.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you are the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare. The Cloudflare Customer Support Team solves complicated problems and answers technical questions via phone, email, chat and social media. Whether it is a Wordpress blogger using our services for free or a global Enterprise business with petabytes of web traffic, we are always eager to assist. Description

Network Security Engineers provide premium-level support for Cloudflare’s security products and features. Our largest and most technically sophisticated customers will contact Support for assistance and intelligence in dealing with threats or attacks on their infrastructure at OSI Layers 3, 4, and 7. This will span the range of Cloudflare security products from Magic Transit Infrastructure Protection, DDoS mitigation and Network Firewall, to using the Web Application firewall (WAF), Spectrum and Rate Limiting to help customers.

Network Security Engineers analyse threats, make detailed and informed suggestions for mitigation and may need to implement mitigation strategies directly on behalf of the customer. They will also provide attack reporting beyond Cloudflare’s self-service reports.

• In case of major breakdowns, arrange repairs, provide spares and service engineers, and supervise the repair work to ensure safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• If insurance is involved, contact, inform, and follow up until settlement in coordination with the Fleet Manager and Marine Manager.
• Lead Vessel Condition Assessments.
• Participate in appraisals and selection of key personnel onboard the vessel.
• Comply with the requirements and report non-conformities.
• Actively cooperate with other disciplines within the fleet to optimize overall vessel and fleet performance.
• Be proactive and seek effective solutions for both the company and clients.
• Show a high degree of flexibility in ad hoc situations.
• Contribute actively to improving routines and solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Sea time as Chief Engineer on an offshore vessel preferred.
• Experience in operations / technical scope for OSVs.
• Proven experience in budgeting and cost control.
• Sound knowledge in:

- General vessel machinery, equipment, and systems.

- Classification and statutory requirements.

- Engine types, including Caterpillar, Cummins, Wartsila, and Niigata.

- FPP, CPP, Z-Pellers, and Azimuth drives.

- DP systems and maintenance.

- Diesel-electric drives and hybrid engine configurations.

- Computer-based PMS and ancillary software.

• Preferably possess ship management skills.
• Able to travel at short notice.
