We're a corporate secretarial company that does corporate secretarial work, bookkeeping and payroll for our clients. You'll need to do full sets of accounts and unaudited financial reports, payroll processing work and preparation of tax schedules for various companies.

We have a flexi-work arrangement in the office so this position is ideal for young parents who wish to spend more time with their family but still want to be plugged into the workforce.

The position will require someone who is an independent worker and also willing to respond to clients not within set hours. The Courage Chapter has been engaged to conduct a search for a Finance Executive for our client, an IPC Charity Organization.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Finance Executive, you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations and making strategic decisions to ensure the company’s financial health and sustainability. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

In the area of Bookkeeping, you will:

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
• Record daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Manage general ledger entries.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.

In the area of Financial Reporting and Analysis, you will:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and track deposits and payments.
• Participate in financial audits.
• Assist with budget preparation.
• Review and implement financial policies.

For Cash Flow Management, your tasks will involve:

• Monitoring cash flow statements.
• Ensuring compliance with tax and financial reporting standards.
• Regarding Governance and Compliance, you will:
• Ensure compliance with Charity Accounting Standards (CAS).
• Submit timely reports to authorities.
• Review and recommend improvements to internal control policies and procedures.

Your role also includes engaging with stakeholders:

• Collaborate with Board Directors, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, Auditing Firms, financial institutions, corporate donors, vendors, and government agencies.
• Support the Board and CEO in corporate secretariat and board management matters.

Lastly, you’ll contribute to building a high-quality workplace and fostering a positive work culture for the organization. You may also be required to work on other assigned projects as directed by the Board and Management.

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Competencies

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Accounting or its equivalent professional qualifications
• Competent with accounting software modules like QuickBooks
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles
• General experience & knowledge in IT applications

Core Competencies

• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry, reconciliations and other accounting tasks
• Organised, self-driven and able to multi-task well under pressure
• Collaborative, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Achievements / Characteristics

• At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in an accounting role, preferably in the social services sector
• Familiar with Singapore Charity Accounting Standards & Corporate Governance for Social Service organisations
• Experience in doing finance/accounting work in other charities

Marketing Team

• Marketing Campaigns: Spearhead marketing campaign to generate new business opportunities.
• Strategic Planning: Orchestrate the full strategic planning to set the outline such as objectives and targets of the outreach programs.
• Market Trends: Understand the behaviors of both jobseekers and clients to better tailor these outreaches to the intended audiences. Develop creative campaigns to drive sales growth.

Recruitment Team

• Talent Acquisitions: Shadow the full recruitment cycle: Sourcing, Screening and interviewing of candidates
• HR Analytics: Internalize the pain points for recruiters to better tailor the products and services meet this challenges.
• Project Management: Undertake HR projects that are ongoing to better understand the implementations for employability facilities services.

Job Description:

• To keep proper records and account for all monies collected
• To prepare monthly statement of accounts and to submit to the Authority.
• To ensure that petty cash impress (if any) to be kept at the limit approved by the Authority and not used in any other expenditure, unless with the written approval of the Authority.
• To maintain and manage the maintenance and operating funds (if assigned) by the Authority.
• To liaise with the appointed auditors for the audits of accounts as required by law and/ or directed by the Authority.
• To prepare weekly, monthly and yearly expenditure report for all works carried out and to submit to the Authority.
• To recommend to the Authority, the appropriate service charge and rent to be recovered from the Authority’s tenants and occupants within the building.
• To attend to all correspondences relating to the buildings on the behalf of the Authority.
• To assist in courses / trainings arrangement and maintain proper records and filing of all correspondences, documents and materials.
• To maintain and update the occupant data of the buildings, occupant names and submit a monthly report on occupancy rate and projection for occupancy.
• To prepare all weekly, monthly and yearly reports for approval including update on presentation slides for CEO Quarterly Meeting.

Requirements

• Min Diploma in any field
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in an administrative role or finance related role.
