Senior Business Development Manager – Institutional (Singapore)

As Senior Business Development Manager (Institutional) for Convera in Singapore, you will be responsible for selling FX payment, hedging products and API solutions to institutional clients (Alternative Investment Funds – AIF). You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of bringing in new clients, from lead generation to closing and maintaining the client relationship.

You will be responsible for:

• Approaching Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) on behalf of the company to attract new clients
• Influencing clients, from the Managing Partners to CFOs and Treasurers of new and established Fund Managers and venture capital firms on benefits of executing spot and hedging needs through Convera.
• Consulting with AIFs, on their currency requirements, risk profile and payment solutions whilst progressing towards securing sustainable, profitable relationships.
• Performing market analysis, attending on and offline events and generating sufficient pipeline to ensure financial targets are achieved.
• Managing the full sales-cycle from lead sourcing, nurturing and on-boarding through to managing growth of the relationship to incorporate future investments within target clients’ fund structures
• Collaborating with colleagues from different departments within Convera.

You should apply if you have:

• A track record working in, or selling into, the AIF (Alternative Investment Funds) ecosystem is a MUST HAVE to be considered for this role. Please make this clear on your CV.
• Foreign Exchange knowledge/experience is highly desired but not essential
• A Reliable and transferable client base within AIF ecosystem (preferred)
• Experienced using the principles of consultative selling and customer acquisition (including networking events, trade fairs, cold calling, etc.)
• Ambitious, self-motivated, confident with high integrity and tenacity to outperform the competition.
• Financially acumen with knowledge of business needs for AIF clients
• Ability to demonstrate success in new business sales of regulated products in a dynamic environment consistent demonstration of achieving or exceeding targets.
• Demonstrable skills of executive corporate level negotiations and ability to build long-term client relationships.
• Ability to work individually, and to collaborate with others in a fast-paced, team environment, making quick decisions, and managing timelines.
• Previous demonstrated experience, working towards key performance indicators and individual targets to achieve weekly, quarterly, and annual goals.

Main Purpose of Job

Reporting to the Principal Officer, this role is primarily responsible for the oversight of the financial reporting for St. James’s Place International plc (Singapore Branch) (“SJPISB”). The role holder is also responsible for providing business support for SJPISB.

Key Responsibilities of the Job

• Ensure that all financial reporting for SJPISB is in accordance with all relevant reporting standards/requirements and consistent with the relevant accounting policies and standards.
• Ensure that the Key Finance Controls of SJPISB are appropriate including the processing of payments and transfers within the Branch's delegated authorities framework.
• Responsible for review and oversight of quarterly and annual regulatory and tax-related returns including ensuring appropriate sign off and governance.
• Responsible for monthly and quarterly Management Information reports for distribution to SJPISB management and relevant Committees.
• Ensure that all other monthly, quarterly, and annual timetable actions are completed, and the SJPISB's Finance Monthly Task Calendar is signed off accordingly.
• Be the local liaison for the auditors to allow them to complete their annual audit in a time efficient manner.
• Ensure all relevant mandates, controls and documentation are updated and in line with MAS requirements.
• Provide local oversight of service relationships with external banking providers, corporate secretarial, tax and other advisers.
• Support SJPISB in its oversight of its third party providers including the administration centres, asset custodian, actuary and payroll providers.
• Responsible for the production of the outsourcing oversight Management Information reports.
• Support SJPISB and the Asia & Middle East Finance Division in related processes as requested by the Principal Officer.

Requirements of the Job:

• At least 4 years of relevant experience
• Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, etc.) with knowledge of Singapore FRS and accounting fundamentals
• Sound working knowledge of insurance accounting and RBC 2 reporting will be advantageous
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and liaise with other stakeholders to find the best solutions
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
