Job Summary

Reporting to Head of Legal and Risk, you will work closely with the business units and be responsible for managing the full range of compliance matters.

10 years of experience in a compliance role within a Singapore licensed trust company or MAS licensed firm would be advantageous (not strictly necessary)

Job Description

(A) Principle duties and responsibilities

• Manage, supervise and lead the compliance team, setting clear objectives and providing ongoing training
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and other applicable regulatory bodies.
• Monitor, keep abreast and interpret changes in regulations, laws and industry practices that may impact the business and communicate such changes to the relevant stakeholders and staff
• Lead, support and from time to time, update the impact assessment and periodic review of the firm’s compliance program to meet regulatory requirements and changes.
• Assist in developing, updating and implementing compliance related policies, procedures, and workflows that are related with relevant regulations and industry best practices e.g. notices and guidelines as issued by MAS from time to time
• Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and provide mitigation strategies
• Conduct gap analysis across business functions, as well as collaborate with stakeholders across the company to enhance compliance controls
• Oversee the FATCA and CRS due diligence and reporting

(B) Governance and Reporting

• Participate in client classification, risk rating, KYC and transaction monitoring. Familiarity with regulatory requirements of AML and CFT and other applicable laws and regulations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all compliance-related matters within the organisation and act as the liaison with regulatory bodies and external auditors (including liaising with regulators on matters arising from AML/KYC/CFT)
• Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, including MAS reports, FATCA/CRS and ensure accurate and timely compliance with regulatory deadlines

(C) Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

• Review the client onboarding documentation, due diligence checks, and enterprise-wide risk assessment.
• Perform transaction monitoring activities, identify, investigate, and escalate any irregularities as part of the monitoring process.
• Conduct compliance and anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism training to all employees.
• Perform any additional duties or participate in ad-hoc projects assigned by the Head of Legal and Risk from time to time.

Role and Responsibilities

Insights & Market Model

• Overall market insights/ trends, split by tech, regulatory, consumer, with volume/ value, market CAGR vs Filtrona growth aspirations. Understand market insights & trends – tech, regulatory, consumer and be the 1 source of intel globally, recognizable as the Filtrona expert on insights
• Market model: Database of the entire Universe of Customers within each region, with mapping of all potential customers, the value chain, the industry associations, and competitors, with identification of high level pockets of growth per country, per region and priority segments
• Translate insights into education to commercial teams via newsletter, insights webinars
• In collaboration with Product management, responsible for drawing on customer needs’ and propose DG1 ideas into the innovation funnel

Tactical Marketing Plans

• Understand and define How to win in target markets; Supports development of strategic and tactical market plans and go-to-market plans and materials to help sales force for target markets/ countries
• Understand and quantify the market size, customer prioritization, value proposition/pricing, segmentation, by looking at, amongst others, players & Brands & Product launches, Movement of tow/ filters, Filter Solutions (Today & Tomorrow); Standard Offering, Competition, Illicit trading, Regulation/ tariffs, Consumption habits, Sustainability, Industry, What’s Next
• Understand and identify real customer needs and key buying factors from supported regions, evaluate the elements that customers are willing to pay for and developing customer specific and quantified value propositions
• Works closely with sales: (i) Develop & support Sales to execute strategy to increase SOW, (ii) establish in conjunction with regions & implement a structured action plan; (iii) engage worldwide to ensure delivery and commercialization
• Determine appropriate mode of entry for these markets
• Drive opportunity management for target segments
• Coordinate actions within the regions to drive marketing plans

Opportunity Management

• Opportunities are defined as either leads or new pockets of growth identified within region/ account
• Set up process for managing opportunities with clear rules
• For new leads, identify need for this with tobacco industry; if needed, in collaboration with Business Processes function, set up and drive adoption of Salesforce module for lead management, as one main source of truth and systematic tracking. If not needed, use current pipeline opportunity tracking
• KPIs tracking (quality, quantity, velocity, conversion) and reward. Clear measures on qualifying, progressing, and impacting opportunities
• Training on opportunity generation and prospecting

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Statistics, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Science or equivalent
• Proven track record of 3-5 years professional experience in market research (in a Tier 1-2 management consulting company) or 6-8 years in strategy, commercial or market insights role focused also on driving implementation.
• Experience in tobacco is highly desirable, otherwise in B2B manufacturing industries
• Excellent command of spoken and written English is a must (bi-lingual communication would be an added advantage)
