Job duties
Key Focus (70-80%):
1. Work closely with Portfolio Manager on sourcing/evaluating alternative investment opportunities across private markets/hedge funds.
2. Assist in conducting relevant research on new investments, including reviewing marketing materials, performing analytical analysis, and preparing research notes.
3. Assist in portfolio monitoring for clients’ alternative investments, with a focus on capital calls/distributions, and notable periodical changes, etc.
4. Prepare regular reports and material, including client reporting and marketing presentations.
5. Liaise between counterparts and operations team to assist with transactions (e.g. subscriptions, redemptions, and commitments).
Secondary Focus (20-30%):
1. Execute strategies across portfolios in the market of cash instruments, funds, bonds, FX and derivatives orders with counter parties via execution platform and negotiation.
2. Actively monitor trading tools and alerts for new trades to execute.
3. Provide feedback on market liquidity, trade structures/sizing and counterparty relationships to trading management.
4. Implement and monitoring of portfolios positions, limits and margin requirement.
5. Assist with rebalancing of portfolio and cash management, P&L and prices.
6. Update and monitor investment guidelines for portfolios.
7. Help with various ad hoc task from trading management and senior traders.
Requirements
1. University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
2. 3-5 years’ experience within financial industry, preferably in investment consulting, banks, or multi/single family offices. Those with accounting background or are current CFA exam candidate may be considered as well.
3. Knowledge and keen interest in hedge funds/private markets is an advantage
4. Strong Excel skills. Prior experience using Bloomberg formula and Bloomberg terminal is an advantage
5. Candidate with existing MAS license preferred
6. Well verse in English and Mandarin to communicate with clients and colleagues in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
