JOB SUMMARY
This is a senior and strategic role with a focus on growing our client-focused community with our business stakeholders and to strategically support Global Head of SCM in delivering the functional strategy and agenda globally. The role is focused on supporting in driving functional performance / results through:
- facilitating senior strategic relationship management with GMT, Board and Advisory Committee members
- supporting discussions and decision-making at various forums / committees
- delivering efficiency, change, and functional performance agendas
- connecting with multiple markets and workstreams and reviewing optimal operating rhythm
The role also provides extensive exposure to senior management as well as SCM management teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- To support the Global Head of SCM in the development of the outsourcing strategy the Bank to formulate the strategic vision and priorities for SCM
- Drive formulation and execution of strategic projects including articulation and delivery of strategic initiatives
- Conceptualise or line up the work and coordinate SCM BAU resources for special projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the Business and functions to drive implementation of special projects.
- Prepare and coordinate strategy related content for board meetings and other senior management meetings with other internal teams.
- Proactively track and measure the performance of the function in delivering the strategic agenda, and identify gaps and actions required to deliver the agenda.
- Assist with design and refresh of strategic plans by closely working with Regional and Global teams. Drive alignment of objectives and scorecard metrics to strategic goals.
- Lead, development, implement and track various transformation projects across the region and relevant businesses as agreed and delegated by the Global Head of SCM, facilitate SCM engagement where necessary
Business
- Day-to-day business management for the SCM, including monitoring and tracking of functional performance, budgets, client related matters and establishing and maintaining appropriate processes/mechanisms for efficient tracking and monitoring.
- Prepare reports, presentations, papers, and review material to support discussions and decision making at various committees across the Bank.
- Responsible to support Global Head of SCM to execute Corporate Plan including the delivery of the scorecard objectives and outcomes aligned to strategic goals of Workplace Experience, Safety, Efficiency and Sustainability
- Responsible to support Global Head of SCM the development and delivery of strategies, influencing key geographic and business stakeholders to ensure optimal solutions are implemented.
- Take responsibility for the planning, co-ordination and project management ad-hoc and confidential initiatives run by Global Head of SCM.
- Support business engagements with other teams / partners / peers in the Bank
- Responsible for coordinating the analysis, planning and responses for SCM or bank wide initiatives
- Deliver strategic initiatives and business analysis that support the functional strategy through strong change management expertise. As required, organise and lead squads to deliver specific business objectives
Processes
- Support the Global Head of SCM at relevant committees by reviewing papers and providing analysis of the content to ensure that key issues/ risks/ insights are highlighted.
- Support Global Head of SCM ahead of material issues and act as the point of contact to help manage issues/ solve problems.
People & Talent
- Supporting Global Head of SCM on people management in the areas of resourcing, talent development, performance management, learning and development and engagement, in accordance with frameworks and standards set by Group.
- Support Global Head of SCM in embedding any organisation structure changes from time to time.
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- Assist Global Head on the team structure/capacity plans regularly and feed opportunities into TOM refresh.
- Oversee SCM communications to support SCM in cascading key messages and announcements.
- Work as part of the Stakeholder Engagement COP to coordinate communications planning for the function.
- Direct People related exercises like year-end compensation process, Job Family Framework (JFF)
- Work on Special Projects
- Provides project management expertise and support to Marketing, as required per functional needs, such as external event
- Organise and/or lead offsites, workshops, retrospectives, etc as required.
- Manage job descriptions / role profiles for the SCM MT, working with HR to ensure role evaluations are prepared and complete (where applicable)
Risk Management
- Highlight risks to management and actively monitor them to reduce the likelihood of occurrence
- Ensure up to date reporting of relevant risks at relevant governance forums, raise and escalate risks to higher governance committees where required.
Governance
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group and geographies operate and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role including TPRM and SMR
- Delegated approver on behalf of Global Head of SCM as required

Our Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years of experience in Banking and/or financial services
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of CIB and WRB business models.
- Creative problem-solver with good multi-tasking skills, able to prioritise issues and resolve them efficiently.
- Mature self-starter who can quickly get up to speed and take a strategic view.
- Ability to work on broad strategic projects as well as day-to-day process-oriented tasks at a global and regional level.
- Strong organisational skills and process discipline to drive multiple agendas.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to handle changing priorities and urgent requests from senior management.
- Experience of working in the geographic/functional matrix.
- Ability to engage stakeholders well in both a one-to-one relationship and team environment.
- Demonstrable track record of showing good quality judgement and acting with integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong project management skills, with direct experience in managing business projects at regional- or global-level.
- Multi-cultural awareness and proven success of working effectively with people of different backgrounds.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in seeking out market opportunities and leveraging supplier base to maximum advantage
- Ability to engage stakeholders well in both a one-to-one relationship and team environment.
