DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• To lead the site construction team in ensuring smooth execution of work
• Responsible for daily execution of work at site, according to schedule
• To supervise and guide subordinates on checking of work to meet the material and workmanship requirements
• To plan ahead of schedule so that site problems can be resolved before they have impact on cost, overall schedule and quality
• To chair WSH committee and attend site meetings
• To ensure that all problems and requirement of customer are being attended.
• To ensure his subordinates are observing Company’s Policies
• To review and approve plant/material requisition
• Responsible for the authorization of site purchases and rental
• To carry out any assignments which may be given from time to time by the Management
• To administer changes to the contract with the contracts department
• Follow up on customer complaints. Identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes, minimize environmental impact associated with the construction activities
• Take reasonably practical measures to eliminate any foreseeable risk to any person who is at the workplace
• Ensure safe work procedures and environmental control measures are implemented at the work site
• Ensure full compliance of MOM safety rules and conduct periodic safety inspections on safety performance of all subcontractors
• Active participation in conducting Risk Assessment
• Ensure briefing/re-briefing of RA to workers by supervisor
• Authorized to stop work at any time for any unsafe work
• Review and revised RA
• Implement necessary control measures to mitigate the unsafe work and to prevent recurrence
• Other duties as assigned by the Director
• Minimum 5 years working experience as Project Manager, Degree holder

• Plan, organize and carried out project management activities to ensure that assigned projects are executed in a smooth and effective manner to achieve and exceed the cost, quality, timelines and customer satisfaction objectives;
• Ensure that safety procedures are incorporated in all project management activities and takes initiatives to promote a safety working culture;
• Review contract documentation in conjunction with B.Q. and material specifications;
• Manage the profit and loss of the project;
• Plan for site mobilization and work sequential execution;
• Prepare works schedules and master programs; Ensures that progress and other reports are put up in a timely manner as required;
• Monitor project cost budgets and ensures that desired profit margins are achieved through cost containment, material wastage control, etc;
• Ensure project performance through close supervision, site checks, close monitoring of site progress and swift resolution of any quality and work schedule issues;
• Ensure that shop drawings are completed and submissions to the authorities are carried out in a timely manner with Drafting Department;
• Attend/Chair project kick-off meetings, daily meetings and project closure meetings with clients, consultants and other parties;
• Update and summarizes all project development performance in monthly management meetings;
• Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors on contractual matters;
• Ensures timely response to consultants’ and all other requests in a pro-active and timely manner;
• Provides effective leadership to team members through coaching, mentoring and motivating on an ongoing basis and ensuring that good team work and esprit-de-corps exist in the Project team;
• Ensures that all project documentation are maintained effectively including email communication;
• Sets key performance indicators for project team members, tracking, monitoring and assessing their performance on an ongoing basis;
• Any other duties as may be assigned.

• Perform system integration verification and interface testing
• Documentation including test plans, procedures, reports etc
• Propose and Implement technical solution to resolve integration problem or system engineering issue
• Perform analysis and troubleshooting of interface problem or system engineering issue
• In charge of proper installation of equipment onto platform, incl.
• Generation of Installation Control Document and Cable Running Sheet
• Monitoring and reporting of progress of work
• Maintaining of interface problem and system engineering issue
• Propose and Implement technical solution to resolve problem
• Conduct safety, protection and coverage studies
• Able to understand mechanical and electrical wiring diagram with some basic understanding of cable termination
• Able to understand system network connectivity diagram with basic understanding of switches and routers
• Must be able to work within tight schedule and fast-pace environment
• Good interpersonal skills, writing skill and presentation skill and able to work independently

Requirements

• Degree/ Diploma in Mechatronic or Mechanical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Minimum 2 years related experience in the similar field will be added advantage
• Experience with network design and networking exposure will be added advantage
• Experience in data communication such as network protocol (TCP/IP, UDP/IP etc), serial protocol (RS422, RS232 etc) and transmission channels is an added advantage
• Proficiency in operating measuring equipment or software such as network analyser, serial protocol analyzer and oscilloscope
• Proficiency in network software such as wireshark and network analyser
• Good knowledge with Operating platform such as Microsoft Windows and Linux

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Execution of projects

Ensure the successful and timely execution of projects

in a professional manner strictly within the budgetary

cost and contractual completion time given by the Sales

Department.

Ensure the accurate documentation of all activities/transactions.

Preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM)/production order

before commencement of kick-off meeting.

2) PO/Contract

Review contractual obligations, and clarify with the originator if required.

3) Engineering Documentation

In charge of producing engineering documentation

which includes but is not limited to drawings, diagrams,

OMM, checklists, MSDS, data sheets, and reports for

each project within the submission deadline to the client.

4) Payment

Coordinate with the Sales Department on all commercial

status before the commencement of procurement of

items.

5) Workshop Drawings

After populating the BOM with all the items, work with

Design Department on generating Workshop Drawings

(GA / P&ID / Electrical drawings) by using AutoCAD 3D

before proceeding with approvals/work commencement.

6) Engineering

Check the correct sizing of components (e.g. motors, pumps, valves & instrumentations).

In case of any changes, ensure other related components are

correctly sized.

7) Master Production

Update the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and

inform relevant departments of the strict compliance to

the delivery schedule, in consultation with the GM.

8) Kick-off Meeting

Leading projects kick-off meeting for all projects handled

with all critical information established (e.g. BOM, Gantt

chart, lead time)

Develop and maintain project deliverables and coordinate with

Production / Installation for delivery/installation work

schedule.

9) Lead Time

Consistent follow-ups and confirmation from

Procurement Department on the ETA especially lead-

time and technical specifications with the help of the Design team.

Communicate with customers in case of any changes

after discussion with Sales Department.

10) Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

Attend together with the Engineering Department to

ensure complete factory testing is accomplished before

generating the in-house testing report as a record for the client

before delivery of the project.

11) Site Visit / Meeting

If necessary, attend and write minutes of meetings for recording purposes at the site; and insert these in Project

File, provided site meetings are held

12) Sub-contractor

Engagement and coordination with sub-contractors

services upon approval of GM for any ongoing projects.

Ensure quality/costs of sub-contractor work is strictly

according to requirements and budget.

13) Cost Control

Use of SAP to generate a costing sheet for comprehensive

cost management within the budget allocated.

Discuss with the Sales Department if the provision is

insufficient.

Ensure that the incurred costs (materials, labor) are

preserved, and any deviation should be highlighted to

the GM.

Seek permission if there is a cost increment even though

expenses do not exceed the budget

2. Attends external project kick-off meetings, meetings with consultants as well as technical and co-ordination meetings,daily project meetings and internal project closure meeting;

3. Assists Project Manager in carrying out all shop drawings and submission with Drafting Department;

4. Assists Project Manager in carrying out risk assessment and other risk management activities; makes recommendations on risk control measures; communicating risk assessment to all workers;

5. Ensures all contractors are safety inducted and issued with Permit before work commencement;

6. Ensures the adherence to the safe work procedure (SWP) established; to inform project manager or project director of any shortcoming in the SWP or risk control measures implemented;

7. Ensures the familiarization with the scope of works;

8. Resolves site problems proactively in a timely manner and seeks advice from Project Manager as appropriate;

9. Ensures the timely preparation of project progress and other reports;

10. Follows up on all aspects of QA/QC matters; records all defects works and ensure proper documentation;

11. Co-ordinates daily activities of workers’ duties and to ensure that they are performed in a proper manner;

12. Makes daily checks on work progress, housekeeping and safety implementation on site with safety personnel;

13. Assists in cost control by cutting materials wastage, reducing labour cost, usage of tools and equipment, etc;

14. Assists the Project Manager in conducting Mass Tool Box meeting with safety personnel;

15. Ensures proper project documentation including email communication;
