About the Role

A day in the life of a Project Engineer...

• Ensure design, implementation and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site, following the investment project charter and design.
• Efficient & safe operations of manufacturing plant and ancillary equipment.
• Practice and inculcate NGMP
• Maintain operational records of plant / equipment operations.
• Before starting the project design phase: Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and see to it that it is strictly followed throughout the project.
• During project design phase: Based on: Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, defined User Requirements Specifications, TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability) and, on top of all the previous, the workers safety during both, the construction and the further operation of the plant, execute the basic design and then the detailed design.
• During the project implementation phase: Get the engineering side of the project implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation, all the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and a vertical start-up is assured.
• Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that the Nestlé standards are applied. Promote development of environment-friendly and sustainable solutions
• During the start-up phase of the project: Support the start-up manager and her/his team, to assure a smooth transition to operations, after the qualification and the verification of the installation have been finalized.
• Support in preparing and distributing the project documentation of engineering, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.
• During the whole project life: Promote development of environmental-friendly and sustainable solutions. Mobilize resources (internal & external)
• Maintain cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene in all plant/equipment utilities areas.
• Practice & inculcate a safety culture to all direct reports. Instill & adopt Behavioral Based Safety philosophy and methods to direct reports.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities on new equipment
• Contribute inputs pertaining to Engineering issues in the area of food safety
• Responsible to implement safety and environment practices in the workplace.

• Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
• Possess strong project management, stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills

Job description:

1. Well versed with the Project masters schedule and deliverables.
2. Prepare schedule based on the deliverables for the respective task.
3. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for sample preparation and submission.
4. Keep track record of list of samples submitted and approved.
5. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors on the lead time for respective material and plan the project activities accordingly as per the master schedule.
6. Coordinate with respective departments to track and monitor the drawings, production, delivery and installation status.
7. Coordinate with construction team on the delivery of material and equipment as per site requirements.
8. Schedule and monitor project management activities, resources, equipment and information.
9. Prepare and present necessary reports and documents on the progress status during the inhouse project coordination meetings.
10. Foresee any potential delays of respective task and report to the construction team.
11. Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.

• Competency in Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge in AutoCAD
• Able to understand construction drawing.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Able to work on tight deadlines.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
