About The Job

The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) invites suitably qualified and experienced Accountants to apply for the position.

Reporting to Director, Corporate Services Division and working closely and collaboratively with other Senior Managers / Managers within the Department and across divisions within the Institute, the appointee will be responsible for the following job functions, and/or other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned by the Management to meet the needs of the organization.

What You Will Be Doing

• Assist the Director in the strategic development and resource planning for IAL, deploying appropriate and relevant financial strategies that support the institute’s corporate strategic directions and work plans.
• Plan and manage the annual and longer term operating and development expenditure budgets and all financial related matters in IAL, including securing the timely approval of IAL budgets and funding requirements to ensure operational sustainability and achievement of strategic outcomes.
• Manage and supervise accounting administrative staff or other managers the day-to-day financial operations within IAL, including revenue, invoices, cash flow, accounts receivables and payable etc., and conduct regular review to ensure an effective utilization of approved budgets at programme, divisional and overall IAL levels
• Prepare, monitor, and review, in collaboration with other divisions in IAL, the annual income, expenditure and development budgets; and to ensure financial discipline and marksmanship.
• Prepare the institute’s financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss accounts) and other financial reports according to schedule and as required by relevant stakeholders. Support month-end and year-end closing, annual statutory audits and ensure compliance with the Statutory Board Financial Reporting Standards and relevant accounting standards and guidelines as well as coordinating with relevant divisions and stakeholders.
• Support the institute and its various divisions to prepare budget planning for various institutional ventures or initiatives, such as programmes, projects, special events and consultancy, etc.
• Analyse and monitor the trend, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and budget utilization. Predict future revenues and expenses and recommend corrective actions, if required. Report organizational finances to management and offer suggestions about resource utilization, budget preparation and control, including any relevant or changing assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
• Manage and maintain an up-to-date register of fixed assets in IAL and ensuring an effective and efficient management and utilization of all fixed assets and resources in IAL.
• People Management - Manage self and team performance; set annual performance goals, monitor performance and provide constructive feedback, identify staff learning and development programmes or initiatives to improve performance and organizational needs.

Job Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant work experience in accounting, financial management, budgetary planning and control and management reporting, and be able to work effectively with senior management team and other colleagues on accounting and financial management related matters.
• Candidates must be able to prepare a full set of financial statements, and for consolidation with SUSS independently. Experiences gained from an established educational or training institution with CET programme offerings or services is preferred, but not mandatory
• A good understanding of educational business operations and the roles of CET or lifelong learning initiatives in the Singapore economic environment, and with some experiences in managing government grants, subsidies will be an advantage.

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of an entire project through budgeting, hiring team members, sourcing suppliers and planning the project release. Role & Job Purpose

The Knowledge Management team’s mission is to help Wise achieve Mission 0 through enabling its operational teams to scale and provide excellent service to our customers by building and maintaining a centralised, easily accessible and high-quality knowledge base.

As a Knowledge Management Specialist, you will support the Knowledge Management Lead and the broader Knowledge Management team to ensure operational teams have information & knowledge management mechanisms in place to support the speed of learning, deliver high quality products and services, develop, share, reuse and continuously improve practices across the entire global operational teams. You are going to help coordinate the operational & product related changes and improvements to reduce risks of negative agent or customer experience ultimately contributing towards the Wise mission by dropping cost for operations.

You will utilise your domain expertise and your outstanding capability to create excellent knowledge base articles by following the end-to-end knowledge management lifecycle, mapping and documenting workflows of your given domain (product, currency, or operational area), as well as keeping them up to date; this way contributing to a centralised, easy-to-use knowledge base and an overall better experience for both internal and external customers.

You will support your lead in the implementation of the Knowledge Management Strategy and Framework. You will provide support to your peers by performing quality checks and proofreading content prior to publishing to internal or external customers. You will act as an ambassador for the Knowledge Management strategy and framework, as well as contribute to building a knowledge sharing culture at Wise. You will lead meetings with stakeholders in operational teams and other servicing teams, sharing with them the KM projects and initiatives you are driving.

As a Knowledge Management Specialist you will have the opportunity to learn about industry best practices in the field of Knowledge Management, project management, technical writing, process mapping, article design, building standard operating procedures (SOPs) and contributing to their implementation.

Responsibilities

• Follow and execute on the Knowledge Management Lifecycle (E2E processes) for discovering, capturing, storing, sharing, applying and reviewing knowledge and information across the assigned domain (product or operational team)
• Convert implicit/tacit knowledge to explicit knowledge based on the KM E2E processes
• Identify embedded knowledge and information throughout the organisation, continuously improve it by eliminating outdated processes and establishing new procedures
