About the role

This position will be responsible for working with large and disparate data sets, internal and external, quantitative, and qualitative, structured and unstructured to support the management of data across the entire data lifecycle. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills and strong focus on data governance practices to ensure the successful delivery of the Data Product Roadmap.

The data engineer brings expert understanding of data and modern data processing technologies to prepare and deliver data assets which support high priority projects.

This position is a part of theData Product Team, which is responsible to delivering on the prioritised T&S Data roadmap to meet strategic objectives. aligned to the Trading & Shipping organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Working with the key stakeholders to define data requirements for projects

• Perform data acquisition/ingestion from internal and external sources, including both structured and unstructured data sources (incl. multi-dimension data, text/documents, geospatial data and graph)

• Performing descriptive analytics and data visualisation to share data insights or validate data with stakeholders. Prepare data quality reports

• Develop data transformations and modelling to prepare data sets for consumption for various end uses including reporting or advanced analytics.

• Develop and maintain productionised data outputs/products to support ongoing uses

• Data Pipeline Development- Build and maintain data pipelines to move and transform data from various sources into Snowflake with assurance that data ingestion is reliable, scalable and optimized for performance.

• Data Modelling and Design- With requirements from business, design and implement data models within Snowflake, including schema design, table structures and data partitioning to support high performance, low latency querying and analytics.

• Data Quality and Integrity- Enforce data quality checks and validation during data ingestion process to ensure accuracy and integrity of data in Snowflake.

• Support Continuous Improvement in Data Product- Support the Commercial Analytics in advancing continuous improvement in the data space, including team engagement to generate awareness of initiatives and track progress.

• Monitoring and Maintenance- Proactively monitor data pipelines and the overall health of Snowflake data infrastructure to identify and resolve issues.

• Automation and Orchestration- Automate data workflows and orchestrate data processes to minimize manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.

• Collaboration with Data Users- Work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and business users to understand their data requirements and provide necessary data support.

Capabilities

• Big Data Engineering – familiarity in designing and developing data processes on cloud based big data platforms

• Data Quality – experience in managing data quality controls to support the completeness and accuracy of data

• Strong understanding of data structures and designing conceptual, logical and physical data models

Qualifications & experience

About the role

Accountable for the management, implementation, and delivery of a large technology program of work in “Commodity Trading Risk Management” (CTRM) consisting of end to end physical and paper trading activities across Singapore, US, Europe, Australia and NZ. This role holds end to end accountability for the project lifecycle, from concept to operational transition, ensuring business value delivery through technology aligned with Ampol’s program management methodologies and procedures.

As the leader of the Commercial Fuels Commodity Trading Risk Management project, this position oversees a crucial, complex initiative aimed at replacing legacy platforms, integrating with ERP, Voyage Management, Supply Planning, Data Lake, and Front Office Tools, and refining processes to support:

• Comprehensive physical and paper trading activities

• Existing operations in Singapore, US, and Australia, as well as new markets in the UK and NZ

• Trading of hydrocarbon and renewable fuel products

Responsibilities span the entire project lifecycle, from architectural design through to seamless transition into operations, with a focus on delivering technology-driven business value and adhering to Ampol’s program management standards. Key aspects of the role include:

• Oversight of CTRM vendor agile delivery and associated KPIs

• Vendor management

Key responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Responsible for managing a multi year CAPEX budget of ~$15m per annum.

• Work with business stakeholders in the commodity trading and supply business to prioritise demands and ensure alignment with financial allocations.

• Define, establish and manage multiple 3rd party vendor contracts for the execution of work packages within the program (value ~$10-20m), with appropriate IT and Business sign off.

• Actively manage the Portfolio of technology projects in this space, ensuring resource management, reporting, financial controls are in place.

• Ensures that technology project scope is managed to and act as point of escalation for scope changes, ensure that changes in scope that will impact time or cost are managed within established change control processes.

Qualifications & experience

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (such as Business, Finance, IT, Engineering) or significant equivalent workplace experience.

• Experience working in the Commodity Trading Risk Management (CTRM) industry especially in relation to oil products

• SAP experience is preferred but not essential

1. OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure that operations of the assigned vessels is maintained safely and economically in accordance with Company's policy and owners’ commercial requirements; and that all essential support is extended to the vessel for the purpose, and for addressing emergencies

2. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Operations

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, cost efficient and environmentally sound operation standard in compliance with TSM as well as International Marine regulations for a given number of vessels.
• To manage the daily operation of the number of vessels assigned to him in accordance with TMS & Best Practice.
• Advise Masters/Chief Engineers and Ship Staff on Cargo & tank/hold
• Port operations
• Anchoring & mooring operations
• Technical/Engine room operations
• Port, passage & war information, insurance coverage for all vessels
• Follow up the on board maintenance system (AMOS), monitor the status and act on overdue items.
• Evaluate and monitor the required reporting from the vessels, act as required and inform other office sections and external bodies as is relevant.
• Follow up class and statutory certification status, condition of class and arrange for the necessary surveys and inspections (flag state, certification for Panama Canal etc.)
• Liaise with Principals regarding Vessel safe operations.
• Shipboard inspections
• Visit vessels regularly (at least three times a year, including a short sailing visit). On each visit, a Superintendent Visit Report, is to be completed and left onboard. Following inspections needs to be conducted during these inspections
• Prepare a Vessel Visit Executive Summary for each Shipboard attendance
• All Audit & Inspection Reports need to be filed/updated in Common drives or Database as applicable. Follow up with vessels/office to close the deficiencies noted during these visits.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, bi-annual, quarterly management reports, as agreed with each Principal, for the Fleet Group Manager’s approval.

Oil Major/CDI & Other Commercial Inspections

• Assist in coordinating, arranging and timely follow up Oil Major Vetting Inspections as directed.
• Assist in arranging external safety audits and onboard training by co-coordinating with the appointed audit or training company.
• Follow up on closure of deficiencies noted during inspections.
• Incident / Accident / Crisis Management & investigation
• Member of TSM Emergency Response Team.
• Conducts investigation and root cause analysis of Incidents, Accidents, and Near Miss & Stopper Cards.
• Review Corrective Actions, Preventive Actions and Recommendations from investigation and analysis of accidents, marine casualties and near misses.
• Assist, and participate in table top exercises and emergency drills.

Port, Flag State Inspections & Other Statutory Audits (ISM/ISPS)

• Assist in coordinating and timely follow up Flag State Inspection, External & Internal ISM, ISPS and MLC Audits as directed.
• Support vessels during Port State Inspections and follow up on prompt closure of noted deficiencies as required.
• Follow up, review, approval and submission of the corrective active plan/report to authorities as required.

HSSEQ

• Assisting Vessels for documenting / conducting Risk Assessments. Evaluation and Monitoring.
• Evaluate & document Off- Hire records (Planned as well as unplanned).
• Stores Supply & Budget Planning.
• Maintain strict cost control of the Annual Operating Budget for each of the assigned vessels.
• Review monthly cost control and approve monthly financial reports before sending to Fleet Group Manager for review.
• Assimilate input from the assigned vessels as well as other relevant departments and prepare each vessel’s Annual Operating Budget.
• Monitor the requisitions generated from the vessel to ensure that they are submitted in a timely manner. Follow up with the Purchasing Department for delivery of ordered items on board.
• Approve invoices for payment.
• Liaise with the Insurance Manager (or Principals) in H&M claims handling. Provide technical input, and cost information, if required, for P&I claims (cargo and crew) and H&M claims.

Crewing

• Make performance evaluations of Masters/ Chief Engineers assigned to the vessel under supervision.
• Provide input to the Manning Department on recruitment of Senior Officers for the assigned vessels.

Dry Docking & Repairs

• Plan, manage, monitor and execute vessels repairs, dry dockings and conversions within agreed budgets.
• Arrange and follow up repairs and services.
• Coordinate with the assigned vessels and prepare the dry docking specification in conjunction with Docking Superintendent, Fleet Services. Submit the specification to yards for quotations, evaluate the received quotations and present them to the Fleet Group Manager and/or Chief Operating Officer for review.
• Attend the dry-docking, discuss shipyard invoicing before presenting same to the Fleet Group Manager and/or Chief Operating Officer for approval.
• Prepare docking report

Building & Facility Executive

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree holder in Facilities Management, Building Services or related field
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in building & facilities management and is 'hands on' to ensure planning to execution success in building & facility initiatives undertaken including for clientele base

Job duties & responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee operational processes of all Company facility areas assigned, including maintenance, safety and cleanliness
• Work within budgetary and compliance parameters to ensure upkeep of building facilities
• Ensure legal compliance where needed
• Work closely and liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to implement cost-effective, simpler, and faster ways of carrying out facility upkeep, development and maintenance
• Manage and attend to all feedback and service requests in a timely manner
• Lead the technicians and manage vendor services to achieve the required professional standards in day-to-day operation
• Raise PO and certify job completion/delivery undertaken by contractors/vendors
• Manage and update online systems
• Initiate B&F activities for workers’ dormitories to ensure compliance with regulations and Company facilities' policies
• Initiate value added services to clients in renting of facilities/storage spaces etc and generate some income for the department
• Assume any other facilities-related duties assigned by the management
