About SME Centre@ASME
SME Centre@ASME is an initiative supported by Enterprise Singapore together with ASME, to provide business advisory and driving capability upgrading to the local SMEs. Our services include first-tier business advisory, diagnostics, and facilitating capability workshops for SMEs.
The Opportunity
At SME Centre@ASME, we work closely with SMEs to develop and strengthen their businesses further. Through 1-to-1 engagement with SMEs across different industries, there will be opportunities to acquire greater business knowledge via such vast exposure to Singapore’s SME landscape.
Upon embarking on a journey with us, you will undergo on-the-job training and tailored mentoring. Professional development training will be provided to develop the skillsets you need to stay relevant as well as build confidence in your advisory role with progression in your career.
Roles and Responsibilities
As part of the Business Advisor team, you will assist to diagnose and analyse the issues/challenges faced by SMEs and followed by recommending the appropriate solutions and supporting them in their business growth journey. Your key responsibilities include:
· Helping SMEs identify gaps and explore avenues of growth
· Provide consultancy advisories to SMEs in the areas such as marketing strategy, overseas expansion, financing, productivity, HR, and best practices
· Providing advice on business operations and valuable insights on how SMEs can transform and develop their internal capabilities
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market insights, business support landscape and advise SMEs on the range of options available
· Provide start-up businesses with advice and guidance for them to set up and commence business
· Identify and engage suitable SMEs to undergo collective solutions in common industry/locality
To qualify, you must have:
· Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in consulting role; or
· Diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience in consulting role;
· Experience and/or passion in the understanding of the business landscape and market issues;
· Knowledge of diverse business matters/functions such as business development, marketing, HR, finance, productivity, etc.
Other requirements
· Must be a Singaporean Citizen or PR
· Preferably have prior experience working with SMEs
· Good relationship-building and interpersonal skills with clients and be the key client contact point
· Ability to work independently as a self-driven and creative problem solver, as well as to collaborate with team members and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
· Knowledge in areas relating to business advisory for SMEs (such as business environment analysis, emerging digital technologies, and business operational planning for continuous improvement) would be ad added advantage.
