As the Principal Specialist for Planning & Strategy, you will assist the Deputy Director to manage a team to work on facilitating discussions and developing effective measures and strategies for the organisation’s needs.

• Negotiate, coordinate, and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
• Conduct relevant studies of industry groups, worker segments, overall employment and employability landscape, and/or ad hoc studies to identify latest trends and opportunities
• Assists to support the senior management with new matters that arise by making sense of emerging issues and gaps that do not fit neatly into categories, as well as corporate and strategy matters, including monitoring and tracking KPIs
• Organize and conduct annual corporate planning sessions and seminars, as well as ad hoc brainstorming sessions to conceptualize the overall workplan
• Communicate the overall corporate strategy, provide analysis and relevant insights to support and guide management in decision-making
• Prepare and present regular reports and topical presentations to the senior management, involved in staffing work; which encompasses preparing Minutes Writing for the senior management
• Oversee, maintain and track clean data to be utilized for data analysis

Skills & Qualifications Required

To be a successful candidate, you should possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Business/ Human Resources or within areas of discipline, with at least 6-8 years of relevant experience in planning and strategy formulation, with strong project management and negotiation skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for co-developing, monitoring and evaluation of the strategic initiatives. Working closely with executive leadership, you will analyse trends, opportunities and develop plans to achieve long-term objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of business strategy of our agency, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic plans.

As a Strategy Manager you will play a pivotal role in shaping THKMC’s future and ensuring its long-term success. You should possess a combination of strategic thinking, leadership, and analytical skills, along with a keen understanding of the social service and community care sector environment in which the agency operates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Enabling Growth:

• Lead development & execution of THKMC's strategic plans & initiatives to drive growth & enhance competitive advantage.
• Monitor & evaluate continuously the progress of strategic initiatives, adjusting as necessary.

2. Research:

• Conduct comprehensive Social Service and Community Care (SS&CC) sector research, competitor analysis, and sectoral trend assessments to identify opportunities & threats. Understand how this data could be relevant for THKMC services & operations.

3. Data Analytics:

• Analyse data & perform quantitative analysis to glean insights about THKMC client, caregiver, volunteer & corporate partner populations.
• Use data to understand THKMC positioning in SS&CCA sector & recommend improvements.
• Analyse data (including financial statistics, budgets & forecasts), formulate & test hypotheses, and develop models to quantify feasibility of recommended strategic decisions.
• Identify THKMC strategic initiatives and key performance indicators (KPIs).

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Lead cross-functional teams, internal and external stakeholders to work cohesively towards achieving strategic objectives. 

5. Reporting and Communication:

• Track performance of strategic initiatives. Construct & update THKMC Management dashboard for monitoring & reporting KPIs.
• Prepare Strategic Planning and Transformation (SPT) discussion & presentation papers. Partner Secretariat(s) to table SPT presentations & updates of THKMC Management dashboard
• Work with Head (SPRM) to achieve functional objectives & deadlines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Post-graduate degree or professional certification would be a plus.
• Minimum 12 years’ experience in management consulting, strategic planning, change management and / or business development, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Proficiency in project management principles to oversee execution of strategic initiatives.
• Conversant with Enterprise Design Thinking & Business Process Re-engineering.
• Good working knowledge of Data Science.

• Conduct a range of commercial analyses, studies, and reports, including but not limited to profitability analysis, market share analysis, benchmarking (e.g., pricing, competition, customer requirements, market trends), and on-demand studies.
• Develop and upkeep business plans for commercial proposals, contract negotiations, and investment decisions and establish mid- and long-term financial business plans.
• Offer support to the sales team on commercial initiatives and sales campaigns, such as preparing and submitting responses to RFQ.
• Take on the responsibility of being the company's primary user for the online sales tool and other modules of the digital service platform, ensuring compliance with the relevant set of AER business rules, such as POR.

Requirements:

• Degree in Business Management/Data Science/International Business/Finance/Engineering, or equivalent.
