Manage the crewing function to identify, recruit, retain and develop a sustainable, compliant and cost effective crew pool.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :
- Contacting ex-seafarer for redeployment
- Sourcing / recruiting / check & verify seafarers’ certificates and arranging for interviews of senior officers with the respective department heads
- Liaise with crew agents and port agents for crew joining/repatriation, including the booking of flight and visa / work permit application
- Checking & ensure seafarer’s certificates / medical check-up for compliance to Charterer’s requirements / matrix
- Checking of seafarer’s certificate authenticity with the relevant authority and application for Flag State license
- Proper maintaining & update seafarer files certificates / document’s expiry / SEA contract / crew appraisal / crew change plan
- Extension of crew’s entry pass and crew landing pass with the immigration authority
- Declaration of immigration clearances and outward port clearances
- Apply & update of crew article, including the crew sign-on/off
- Provide weekly and monthly reports to senior management on crewing matters and issues.
- Supervise / audit manning agencies to ensure Company requirements and policies are fulfilled.
- Monitoring and closing out of crew P&I costs and medical updates
- Obtain information and remain fully informed on local legal and regulatory requirements on topics that may affect crew members, including immigration rules and procedures, local social tax issues, and insurance matters.
- Member of the Shore Base Emergency Response Team to coordinate with ERT members local or overseas for medical arrangements and inform NOK as necessary.
- Undertake any other Adhoc duties/projects as assigned by Management/Company.
- Oversee and supervise peers on their daily tasks
- Prepare DOC audit under crewing elements
CANDIDATE PROFILE / REQUIRED COMPETENCY
- Working knowledge of international Maritime rules and regulations
- Pleasant personality and communicate effectively with all nationals
- Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skill
- Organized, patient and attentive to detail and accuracy
- Able to work in a fast pace environment & able to travel in short notice
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / ACCREDITIONS:
- Min Diploma / Degree in any field
- Relevant Experience in Crewing function in offshore company for at least 5 years
- Knowledge of STCW / MLC regulations is desirable
- Familiarity with flag state regulations for Malaysia and Singapore flagged vessels is desirable
