Responsibilities

• Assisting Head Chef with daily preparation and cooking of food
• Study each recipe and preparation of all necessary ingredients
• Cook food in a timely manner
• Inform service staff about daily specials
• Ensure plate presentation is up to restaurants standards
• Ability to slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests
• Monitor food stock and and inform purchaser to place orders

Requirements

Reporting to the General Manager, the Head Chef is expected to:

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Ensure food quality, presentation, and safety standards are being adhered to.
• Responsible for the preparation of all dishes that are prepared in their section.
• Responsible for proper storage, labeling, and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary spoilage and to maintain cost control.
• Directs chefs in their section in preparing, cooking, and presenting culinary dishes, enforces strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen, and troubleshoots any problems that may arise.
