Job Summary:
As a Health Care Attendant, you will provide essential support to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients under your care. Working directly with patients, you will help meet their daily needs, maintain cleanliness, and assist in their safety and mobility. You will report to the department-in-charge and collaborate with other team members to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Orientate patients to their assigned beds and facilities, ensuring they are comfortable and informed about their surroundings.
- Promptly answer patient calls and relay requests to the department-in-charge.
- Attend to patients' basic needs, including toilet assistance, bed sponging, meal and drink service, and feeding as required.
- Conduct regular bedpan and urinal rounds, and assist with diaper changes.
- Escort patients to and assist them in the toilet as needed, and monitor restless patients to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Serve as a chaperone for patients when required, maintaining a respectful and supportive presence.
- Clean up spillages and sanitize equipment such as vomit bowls, urinals, and other items when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of beds, lockers, and non-patient areas, including storerooms.
- Assist in managing the inventory of department items, such as linen, flasks, pillows, and bedpans.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the department-in-charge.
