JOB SUMMARY

• We are seeking an experienced and strategic product management leader to drive the growth and innovation of our FI Clearing product suite globally. The role will sit at group with active involvement across USD, EUR, GBP, RMB as well as a large number of other locations with FI clearing solutions.
• This role encompasses core product management responsibilities, commercialisation strategies, leveraging data for insights, standardisation efforts, and the enhancement of our Asian Clearing proposition. The role initially involves leading a small team with extensive collaboration with group-level and in-country product managers.
• The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cross-border payments, correspondent banking needs, payment clearing systems and bank/on-behalf-of payment flows and solutions. You will have a strategic and solution-orientated mindset, being client-led, risk aware. You will also have a proven track record of leading product managers, delivering innovative FI relevant capabilities and driving commercial success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

• Position SCB’s capabilities and reputation within the FI clearing business.
• Lead the end-to-end management and lifecycle of FI clearing products, with a specific focus on Banks and Affiliates. This will include enhancements of existing capabilities and new initiatives.
• Define and execute the product roadmap in alignment with the global payment strategy, FI clearing growth agenda and evolving client needs. Prioritise based on commercial opportunity, market intelligence, client feedback and competitive analysis.
• Drive revenue growth by developing robust commercialisation strategies, including product performance tracking, pricing models, value propositions, standardisation opportunities and go-to-market plans.
• Lead initiatives to modernise the FI clearing product suite, leveraging emerging technologies (e.g. API, ISO20022, real-time cross border) to improve functionality, commercial advantage and efficiency.
• Partner closely with other TB Product Teams, to include Transactional FX, Liquidity & Trade Lending teams to drive cross-sell and further revenue opportunities.
• Spearhead the enhancement of SCB’s Asian clearing proposition, ensuring competitive positioning, local nuances and regulatory compliance.
• Stay ahead of market trends, emerging technologies and regulatory changes to ensure the product suite remains innovative and relevant.
• Determine and assess partnership requirements for FI Clearing to evolve the product offering.
• Collaborate with senior leaders across the bank to secure buy-in for product initiatives and drive alignment with strategic goals.

Business

• Drive the P&L for the FI clearing product, focussed on revenue growth, NFI, balances and overall profitability.
• Contribute to the development of the overall product strategy, product roadmap, and business plan
• Act as a subject matter expert in correspondent banking / FI Clearing, engaging with Sales, Coverage and clients to understand needs and pain points.
• Analyse product performance using data-driven insights, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
• Determine opportunities for standardisation to drive fee optimisation, claim recovery rates and/or processes that impact the end-to-end clearing offering.
• Partner with regional and in-country teams, and drive a holistic FI Clearing product plan across all booking locations.
• Work closely with other Product Owners, Product Developers, Solution Delivery, Marketing, Sales, Coverage, Operations, Digital Channels, Platforms and Engineering teams to define and develop detailed product/business requirements.
• Constantly monitor the business environment as well as analyse competitor’s offerings in the market and recommend appropriate strategies to respond to market opportunities and/or threats.
• Run a robust operating plan outlining product release timelines and implementation with coordination of all the activities required to bring the product to the client/market.
• Collaborate with key location product managers to ensure product readiness before pilot / launch, including commercialization tool kits, product packs and training.
• Provide business solutions for complex deals or RFPs to drive sales and solutions.
• Establish and attend meetings with Swift, across various initiatives.
• Represent SCB at client events, industry conferences and working groups.

• Understand the end-to-end operating model across locations, while taking steps to improve points of friction in the client journey and potential failures from a risk management perspective.
• Look for opportunities to optimise the end-to-end product lifecycle, across processes.
• Understand the FI clearing product capabilities and gaps across locations, while taking steps to reach consistency.
• Ensure seamless management of products by partnering with technology, operations, risk and compliance teams to establish efficient processes and frameworks.
• Create new revenue streams with meaningful returns over the long term, through product enhancement and innovation, whilst uplifting current revenue streams through process efficiencies and digitization.
• Manage product investments from reduction of unit cost of product to optimization of launch/go-to-market cost for products.

• 10 years of relevant experience in Transaction Banking Product Management, focused on the FI segment.
• Deep understanding of correspondent banking/ global clearing, cross-border payment flows, financial messaging, payment systems & technology
• Commercial and financial acumen to drive a strategic growth priority for SCB, measure product success, develop business cases, and actively manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to develop a business vision, proactively define and execute product strategy, prioritise effectively and deliver a product roadmap
• Experienced product manager across the product lifecycle to include ideation, requirements, commercialisation and sunset.
• Experience working with industry and regulatory bodies across markets, including standard setters.
• Creative problem solver, capable of developing innovative and differentiating solutions. Keen interest in emerging payment technology, new financial services players, and the application to global clearing.

What will your day look like?

As an Associate Director, Specialised Transaction Management, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Effective management and monitoring of a portfolio of complex Corporate Finance Intl transactions that covers Project Finance, Structured Export Finance, Structured Asset Finance and Acquisition Finance.
• Support the delivery and execution of the Corporate Finance International strategy.
• Support broader portfolio management activities, including audits, controls testing, portfolio and regulatory reporting together with specific sector/industry reviews.
• Represent the business at various risk management forums, Early Alerts meetings and discussions with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Support development of key client relationships with RM partners.
