Job Description:

• Responsible for the daily operations of their section and in the absence of the Sous, Executive Chef or Junior Sous act as the Kitchen Leader
• Monitors food quality and consistency and ensures that the food presented to our guests is of the highest quality standards
• To ensure that there is always a sufficient supply of all food items, through the effective management of PAR levels
• Planning and organizing daily operations needs and ensuring the Highest HACCP standards are followed at all times

Requirements:

• Minimum Professional Certificate in a Culinary-related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the Food & Beverage industry (hotel and free-standing restaurant) in a similar position
• A WSQ Food Safety certificate is an advantage
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues

What’s the job?

Responsible for the daily productions, preparation and presentation of pastry, dessert and sweet related dishes for all day dining restaurant, banquet functions, Club Lounge and Lobby Lounge Afternoon Tea (inclusive of cake sales and guests’ special / VIP amenities, outside catering and Christmas festive takeaways) under the directive of Sous Chef / Pastry Chef / Executive Pastry Chef, through adherence to hotel policies and procedures.

Your day-to-day

• Adhere HACCP policies and procedures within the hotel

Job Description – Junior Sous Chef (Bakery)

Your Profile

• Ideally with a relevant degree or diploma in Culinary or Hospitality management.
• Minimum 2 years work experience as Chef de Partie or 3 to 4 years work experience as Demi Chef in a hotel or large restaurant with good standards; preferably with experience in luxury international brands.
• Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards will be essential.
• Qualification in Kitchen Production or Management will be an advantage.
• Experience in leading a diverse team with varying degrees of experience and talents will be an advantage.
• Basic Computer Skills in MS Office and Recipe Maintenance System is preferred.
