Pastry Chef Role in MIJ Hub
MIJ Hub is seeking a creative and skilled Baker who is not just passionate about crafting delectable baked goods but also about making a lasting impact. This role goes beyond baking—it involves imparting knowledge, guiding individuals with special needs, and uplifting a brand that provides them with a steady source of income.
Key Responsibilities
Baking & Crafting:
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including bread, cakes, pies, cookies, muffins, and croissants, by following recipes and ensuring quality standards.
- Innovate and experiment with new recipes, flavors, and techniques to create unique and exciting baked goods (R&D).
Mentorship & Collaboration:
- Work alongside individuals with special needs, guiding and mentoring them in baking tasks to help build their skills and confidence.
- Create an inclusive, supportive work environment where every team member can thrive.
- Contribute to elevating MIJ Hub’s brand, which plays a vital role in providing a steady income for special needs clients and their families.
Quality & Customer Satisfaction:
- Ensure all baked goods meet the highest quality standards in appearance, taste, and texture.
- Take pride in fulfilling customer orders, ensuring satisfaction with every product delivered.
- Regularly check the freshness of products and manage inventory to prevent waste.
Hygiene & Safety Compliance:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment by adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and workplace safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a baker or pastry chef in a bakery, restaurant, or similar setting
- Knowledge of baking techniques, recipes, and equipment
- Ability to work with various ingredients, such as flour, sugar, eggs, butter, yeast, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Creativity and attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and stand for long hours
- Food safety certification or training is a plus
- Able to commit at least 4-6 months period
