** New Plant to Open in 2026*
Position Summary:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and managing the production process of the EVAL
Manufacturing site, which will be launched in the second half of 2026, and makes any necessary
process changes to maintain the production safely and stably. The Shift Supervisors are responsible
for the efficient operation of the EVAL Plant in accordance with established procedures and work
instructions. Major tasks include managing direct reports on shift, plant performance monitoring,
feedback and troubleshoot abnormalities, conduct and follow up of individual training and
development plans of his people.
The Shift Supervisor reports to the Production Day Superintendent. Until the startup of EVAL
production line, training and learning opportunities of EVAL production technology are provided by
experienced members in Kuraray.
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for training and leading the new technicians to achieve safe and
stable commissioning and startup of the new EVAL plant.
Responsibilities:
Support the Production Manager and Production Superintendent in process analysis,
troubleshooting and optimization of plant operations.
Responsible for all aspects of shift operations and manage shift team manpower and
administration.
Conducts daily shift meetings and assign duties to the shift team.
Making emergency operating decisions.
Leads Emergency Response Team as Site Incident Commander.
Provide guidance to shift team for effective and safe operation.
Ensure that periodic inspections are carried out to verify the smooth operation of all process
equipment. Work requests are to be raised to rectify equipment faults if necessary.
Reviewing DCS conditions/trends, analytical results, area logbooks and reading sheets,
routine inspections of the process areas for equipment problems and housekeeping and
having process technicians take appropriate corrective action.
Take corrective action to control and rectify deviations in process parameters in order that
finished goods are produced within specifications.
Conduct on-job training and cross-training for technicians under their charge.
Co-ordinate and control the receipt and delivery of chemicals and finished goods in the Plant.
Ensure that non-conforming products and recycled materials are properly handed and
treated in accordance to established procedures.
Participate and lend support in project management when required.
Implementation of cost reduction ideas for utilities and waste streams
Ensure compliance with regulatory, company, and departmental Safety and Environmental
guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Prepare equipment for maintenance and commissioning of equipment.
Work with Maintenance Department on Transition and shutdown maintenance planning
Requirements
At least 10 years working experience in a petrochemical industry.
Diploma in a relevant discipline.
Experience in leading people in a supervision role.
Good knowledge and application of all safety rules and safety processes required in a
chemical plant.
Good oral and written communication skills
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skill.
High level of initiative and clear judgment
