UWCSEA Dover is looking for a part-time Teacher of French from August 2024.

The appointee will teach a range of French (foreign language) classes from Beginner to Intermediate level across the Middle School and High School. The appointee needs to be able to teach a combination of IB Diploma French B classes along with French language classes in Grade 9 and 10. RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of a SPED Contract Teacher is to design and develop specialised lesson plans to help students with special needs to cope and achieve their learning objectives. The SPED Contract Teacher will be working closely with allied health professionals, social workers, psychologists, families and the community so as to help the students to reach their fullest potential and enjoy an enhanced quality of life.

REQUIREMENTS

· At least 2 ‘A’/ H2 Level passes and 2 AO/H1 passes (including GP or Knowledge Inquiry) or a recognized local polytechnic diploma

· A good overall International Baccalaureate Diploma score

· Having a Diploma in Special Education (DISE) would be advantageous

· Will be required to attend Diploma in Special Education (DISE) once hired

· A heart to serve in the special needs sector

* Minimum relevant Bachelors Degree

* Current Professional teaching certification

* Experience of teaching ESL students

* Good verbal and written English

* International school teaching experience preferential

* Experience teaching IB MYP Mathematics preferential

Preffered Selection Criteria:

Job description:

• Responsible for teaching English subject to the students. Demonstrates the necessary subject knowledge and teaching methodology.
• Develop lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
• Present lessons that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• Timely Checking marking and correction of notebook & assignments completed by the students, preparing worksheets, setting question papers.
• Reviews the feedback from the academic coordinators & HOD and revises the lesson plans accordingly.
• Up to date knowledge of latest teaching aids, such as the use of technology in classroom learning and for home based learning.
• Identifies students who may require additional assistance, academic or non-academic, and ensures they receive the necessary support. Assess, records and reports on the development, progress and results of students.
• Communicates and provide feedback to the parents during the Parent Teacher Meetings, and whenever necessary.
• Collaborates with co-teachers to share new ideas, teaching approaches, content and professional knowledge.
• Takes care of safety of the students.
• Checking of notebook, preparing worksheets, setting question papers.
• Supervising and grading examinations, and, at the end of the semester or year, grading each student.
• Handling other duties according to requirement of the School.
