XCL World Academy has two (2) vacancies for the school year 2024-2026 for Early & Primary Years Bilingual Teachers (English). This is a full time contract position starting from 1 August 2024.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans collaboratively that fulfill the requirements of the bilingual curriculum program while supporting the implementation of the IB PYP.
• Show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
• Build on student capabilities and differentiate to meet student needs.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school.
• Undertake planning which emphasizes connections across curricular areas and explicitly focuses on transdisciplinary skills and the essential elements of the PYP program.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with peers, showing respect, being prepared and on time, and adhering to the school wide meeting norms and team essential agreements at all times
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formative and summative assessments.
• Involve students in shared reflections during and at the end of each unit on a consistent basis
• Evaluate the program collaboratively with teaching partners, parents and students as appropriate, using agreed flexible systems

Person Specifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or in teaching Chinese/English as a second language or equivalent is required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with children as a full time Homeroom / Mandarin/ Bilingual Teacher with relevant qualifications required
• Knowledge and understanding of the IB PYP Curriculum preferred
• Possess highly developed interpersonal skills
• Excellent proficiency in English and Mandarin skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking)
• Proficient in the use of technology and online applications

To teach the MindChamps Music curriculum to all levels of students in Preschool. PG K2. Teachers will be teaching a comprehensive music literacy curriculum that includes instruction in singing, percussion, keyboards, recorder, and violin (in the upper grades).

1. Plan, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies, guidelines, frameworks and philosophy of the centre.

Job Description

• Consistently maintain regular observation and evaluation of infant/toddler’s development and growth progress
• Ensure safety of each child through close supervision, whether in the classroom setting, play area, or any other areas within the school compound
• Perform childcare / infant care routines in a prompt and hygienic manner that is consistent with the early years child development practices. These routines include diapering, feeding, bathing, hand washing, napping and transitioning between activities
• Maintain daily journal of milk feeds, solid feeds, diapering, etc., in accordance to relevance for each age group (Babies, Junior and Senior Infants)

Qualifications
