Responsibilities include:

● Collaborating with other educators to implement best practices and respectful nurturing and care to children aged 18 months to 6 years old.

● Creating an emergent curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and aligned with our Reggio Emilia-inspired pedagogy.

● Lead parent communications in-person and via online platforms, displaying strong communications skills, providing a nurturing, cooperative approach to parent relationships in a multi-cultural community.

Summary of the Role

Yoga Movement’s Teachers are the face of the business. They are responsible not only for delivering high quality yoga classes in line with the teaching standards for all YM class types, but also representing the YM brand across their personal grooming, pre- and post-class client relationships, and personal brand through social media and representation at events.

Teaching (80%)

Yoga Movement strives to develop the best teaching team in Asia. As part of this strategy, our brand promise ensures that no matter where in the world a YM class is delivered, it meets the brand standards and brand promise of a Yoga Movement class.

Teachers are expected to be well-versed in the YM class menu, and through internal trainings, be able to teach all class types. They will deliver each class type to brand, using class type guidelines in shaping their sequences, cues and pace of the class.

The Teaching team will also compile feedback given by clients and assist the Area Managers and Training & Academy Manager in ideating solutions for any areas of improvements.

Personal Development (10%)

We see teaching as a never-ending learning journey, and as such, look for our team members to pursue professional growth through attendance of training courses, internal and/or external. Teachers should endeavour to attend at least 3-4 internally scheduled trainings per year, alongside any other external trainings they choose to attend in their own time. These training courses will ensure that teachers are equipped to teach all class types at Yoga Movement, as well as develop additional knowledge of both hard and soft skills help to bolster their competencies as a teacher.

In addition, the class schedule regularly incorporates Specialty Classes to drive clients’ interest and attendance. Teachers are encouraged to contribute at least 6 pop-up classes annually toward this schedule.

Team (10%)

Job Responsibilities:

• Teach an exciting and comprehensive music literacy curriculum to Preschool, PG, and K2 students.
• Provide fun and engaging instruction in singing, percussion, keyboards, recorder, and violin (for the older kids).
• Plan, supervise, and implement the program according to the centre's policies, guidelines, and philosophy.
• Support each child’s educational and developmental journey, keeping accurate records of their progress through checklists, progress notes, photos, and anecdotal records.
• Take on other ad hoc duties as needed to keep our program running smoothly.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Professional Certification in Music (ABRSM in Piano, Music Theory, Music).
• Demonstrate musical competency in at least 2 instruments (e.g., Piano, Violin, Ukulele, Guitar, etc.).
• Knowledge of Solfege (do-re-mi syllables), Suzuki Violin, and Keyboard is a plus.
• Creative, inspiring, and full of positive energy.
• Prior experience in classroom teaching.
• Experience teaching music to children.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Working Hours and Location:

• 44 hours work week: Mondays to Fridays, between 7am to 7pm.
• Location: KINEX (Paya Lebar) or Pasir Ris Mall.
• Monthly Saturday: ½ day on one Saturday monthly, as advised by management.
