RESPONSIBILITIES

Early Intervention Teacher

As an Early intervention teacher, you will work with children with disabilities and/or developmental delays. The position reports to the Senior Early Intervention Teacher.

Role & Responsibilities

· Develop and put in place education plans based on individual child's needs

· Prepare teaching materials and resources according to the child's developmental level

· Monitor progress and discuss child's learning progress and evaluate goals for individual child

· Collaborate closely with families and professionals through regular case reviews

Requirement:

. Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN) or acceptable equivalent

· Diploma in Special Education by National Institute of Education (NIE)

. Certificate in Autism by Autism Resource Centre

. Strong interest and commitment in working with children with learning disability, developmental delay and/or special needs – Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, and a variety of learning and behavioural challenges

· Strong organisational and communication skills

· Ability to work well in a team

· Passion to help special needs children to maximise their talents and potential

Teaching Guidance:
Course Delivery: Teach Teo Chew opera performance, vocal techniques, body movements, and essential stage skills.
Performance Techniques: Guide students to master performance skills, including facial expressions, gestures, stage walking, and dialogue delivery.
Repertoire Instruction: Instruct both traditional Teo Chew opera pieces and newly created works to foster students' understanding and performance abilities within Chaozhou opera culture.
Rehearsal and Performance Guidance:
Rehearsal Organization: Organize and guide students in rehearsals and stage performances of TeoChew opera.
Performance Style Adaptation: Train students to adapt to different performance styles and stage requirements of various plays.

Responsibilities / Duities

- Coach, supervise and ensure completion of students daily Chinese school homework (If any)

- Conduct practices and test for weekly spelling

(Chinese only)

- Conduct weekly fun & engaging Chinese lessons (30mins) for the students

- Assist the Centre Head in planning, coordinating and implementing of fun learning activities, creative play and holiday programmes for the students

- Assist Centre Head in the overall running of Centre like picking the students up from centre's drop-off points
