Job Scope
- Take responsibility for the welfare and safety of residents by ensuring that all safety policies and procedures followed.
- Review and monitor residents periodically to assess their progress and to ensure that high quality nursing care has been provided and to ascertain residents’ needs for additional care.
- Plan, organise, implement, supervise and evaluate nursing care programme and services rendered.
- Attend to enquiries promptly from residents’ families and assure them that loved one is comfortable and well taken care of
- Ensure resident / customer complaints (received verbally, through letters or via feedbacks) are handled expeditiously and corrective or preventive actions taken effectively and complied with protocol
- Implement and monitor infection control policies and procedures and ensure that all staff understand and adhere to these procedures strictly.
- Participate in in-service education programme and carry out post course follow-up to ensure effective transfer of knowledge and training
- Conduct periodic checks on staff on their learning journal and identify staff learning needs
- Take charge of the daily smooth operation of the ward.
- Ensure all internal documents filed correctly and circulars disseminated to all staff.
- Audit residents’ case notes and nursing documentation to ensure that records are update and comply with the legal requirements for documentation.
- Appraise HCA and NA when they renew their employment contracts and annual appraisal for bonus payment.
- Schedule weekly roster of ward nursing staff and those on night duty.
Requirements
- Min. Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution
- Valid SNB
- Min. 5 years’ nursing management experience, of which, at least 2 years’ experience as Senior Staff Nurse or above in a community hospital or nursing home setting preferred
