Fellowship in Vascular Surgery

The Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, National University Hospital is seeking candidates for our fellowship in Vascular Surgery under National University Heart Centre, Singapore. We are a 1,400 bed hospital with full range of vascular surgery services. There are 6 Consultant surgeons in the vascular division. We have an aortic center which offer full range of open, endovascular as well as hybrid surgery and both cardiac and vascular surgeons worked closely together. The vascular unit performs over 1,600 procedures in all aspect of vascular surgery. The fellowship will be at registrar/senior registrar level and you are expected to do on call at frequency of 1:4 Rota to 1:5.

We welcome international candidates who have previous vascular experience and looking for further opportunities to enhance their vascular and endovascular skills. As we are an academic unit of vascular surgery, fellows are expected to participate in research and teaching. Depending on candidates’ previous skills set, we offer basic, intermediate and advanced vascular fellowships. The maximum training duration is 24 months for candidates at junior registrar level and 12 months for advanced fellowship. Reporting to the Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centric and compassionate care according to patients’ needs and conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure nursing care services rendered are safe, competent and individualised. Uphold nursing standards in documentation, treatment, patient monitoring and infection control.
• Allocate equipment as necessary to assure adequacy of resources to meet care requirements.
• Communicate and build rapport with patients and their families or caregivers.
• Coordinate the care of patients through an advising physician, provide direct patient care, evaluate patients’ conditions, and serve as the liaison between families and physicians.
• Facilitate and participate in Multidisciplinary Team meetings to provide smooth delivery of patient care and services.
• Observe organisation and legal requirements regarding storage and control of drugs and medical supplies.
• Keep active measures to ensure the safety of patients and report all incidents to the Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician.
• Maintain proper documentation of patients’ condition and accurate collation of data (record of referral/enquiry/attendances).
• Monitor, reassess and evaluate the patient’s condition in implementing a care plan for the patient and support family members to cope with the patient’s advanced illness.
• Perform nursing care such as medication administration and wound dressing as required.
• Follow up to ensure continuity of patient care and treatment plans.
• Observe the proper use / care of the equipment and economical use of consumables and supplies.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in matters involving patient care.
• Maintain a conducive and safe patient care environment.
• Fulfil the role of buddy by mentoring junior staff for performance excellence and career development.
• Enforce compliance with the Singapore Nursing Board's Standards of Practice for Nurses and Midwives, and the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
• Undertake to keep oneself well informed of the updated industry guidelines and develop new skills that are necessary for the job.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation at all times.
• Initiate and drive continuous improvements in own work area on regular basis.

Requirements:

• At least a Diploma in Nursing from the local Polytechnic and registered with Singapore Nursing Board. Post-registration experience in a hospital or hospice setting is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Prepare, generate and verify tax invoices

• Collect all information needed to generate tax invoices

• Processing debit and credit notes

• Issue invoices and send them to customers through various channels

• Manage billing portfolio to ensure accuracy of billings

• Maintain organised financial records of invoices and other billing documents

• Handle enquiries from customers pertaining to billing and work with customers to reconcile billing issues

You are responsible for providing specialised direct and indirect nursing care and patient education through management, coordination and evaluation of care activities for patients undergoing radiological procedures. To provide guidance and direction to staff nurses and below, in order to provide optimal care to meet desired patient outcomes and experiences

Job Description:

• Perform objective assessment, evaluation and documentation of patients’ condition
• Perform complex procedures, both non-invasive and invasive within the scope of duties
• Ensure the safe delivery of patient pre-operatively from reception / recovery to the procedures and vice versa
• Prepare patients for Nuclear Medicine imaging such as screening patient, setting IV cannula and preparing IV medication etc.
• Ensure and maintain principles of sterility and asepsis procedures and techniques when assisting procedures

Job Requirements:

• Preferably 2 years of working experience in an acute care hospital setting
