Position Summary

The Financial and Trade Officer in a commodities company oversees the financial and trade operations related to the procurement, sale, and distribution of commodities (e.g., base metals, palm oil products). This role ensures smooth financial transactions, mitigates risks, and aligns trade activities with market and regulatory conditions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Operations

• Manage trade financing facilities such as letters of credit (L/Cs), bank guarantees, and trade credit insurance.
• Ensure timely payments and collections from clients and suppliers in accordance with trade agreements.
• Monitor cash flow related to commodity trading operations and prepare financial forecasts.

2. Risk Management

• Assess credit risk of trading counterparties and recommend risk mitigation measures.

Job Requirements

Education

The Corporate Finance Officer reports to the Head of Consulting and M&A. The responsibilities are as follows:

1. Assist senior M&A managers to search for business partners, sellers or buyers.
2. Perform market research of potential business partners, sellers or buyers.
3. Assist senior M&A managers in structuring corporate advisory proposals and perform all other ad-hoc tasks as requested.
4. Perform valuation of projects undertaken by the Bank.
5. To work with legal counsels and counterparties in contract documentations on transaction terms and conditions and all other related matters.
6. Assist the M&A team members in the execution of contract from beginning to closing.
7. Gather information of regional economies and perform industries studies for the M&A team members.

Requirements:

1. Degree in accounting and / or business
2. At least 3 years of corporate finance related working experience and M&A brokerage business in financial institutions or in Japan.
3. Strong written and oral communication skills in Japanese and English to facilitate communication with Head Office in Japan and Japanese customers.

Role and Responsibilities

• To generate for invoice issuance to clients on monthly basic base on given contract amount
• Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
• As and when receive approval quotation and proposal, proceed with invoice issuance as well as keep track on payment method.
• Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
• Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
• Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail
• Collect cheque and manage record for all bank in transaction
• Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R and generate to weekly-monthly-yearly report and submit to higher management for better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing
• Support other accounting and finance team members, inventory management, and cost accounting

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience in Finance. Associate’s degree or background in business or equivalent.

Job Description

• Ensure that all site activities comply with the regulations and client's requirements.
• Work closely with our Project Management Team, Professional Engineers, Client, Contractors and local regulatory authorities so as to provide planning, design and leadership not only to solve site problems
• Responsible for implementing and sustaining the site supervision quality & safety assurance system.
• To report to C&S QP, works closely with the regulatory authorities and contractors to provide supervision on site, resolve all site issues and ensure timely completion of the projects.
• To be competent in carrying out supervision of structural works by identifying any non-conformity of contractor's works on site. The appointed person must have the strong ability to interpret the drawings and contract documents on works to be carried.
• Appointed person possesses a complete understanding of local requirements, especially to comply with BCA's criteria for build-ability and safety assurance system.
• To carry out regular site checks on Builder and ensure compliance on health and work safety in accordance with MOM.
• To manage the site supervisors with respect to C&S engineering works, architectural and M&E engineering works.
• To attend site, progress, variation and coordination meetings
• Interpret drawings and contract documents on works to be carried.
• To carry out site regular site checks on contractor’s temporary and permanent works to ensure compliances with health and safety in accordance to MOM Regulations
• Ensure proper and up to date site documentation for on-going and completed works, site meetings, safety record , as-built submission etc.

Requirements

• Recognized Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering acceptable for registration with the PE Board, Singapore
• Accredited with IES/ACES with a valid Resident Engineer Practicing Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in multi-storey building with basement construction, foundation bored pile, preferably in steel and precast building construction and having experience in healthcare projects
• Must be registered and practicing Resident Engineer for the past 5 years.
• Must be familiar with local Regulations/Codes for Civil & Structural related to building projects.
• A good team player and experience in leading a team of Resident Technical Officers.
• Carry out regular site checks on Builder and ensure compliance on health and work safety in accordance with MOM.
• Supervision of C&S and Architecture works by identifying any non-conformity of contractor’s works on site.
• Strong ability to interpret the drawings and contract documents on works to be carried.
• Supervision and manage site supervisors with respect to C&S and Architecture Work
• Ability to resolve site and technical issues, prepare and document detailed site progress reports.
