About the job
The Authorization Manager assists schools in all aspects of programme implementation related to the global authorization process in order to optimize the growth, results, engagement and satisfaction of schools in the authorization process. In doing so they ensure schools have the support they need from all other IB departments by working collaboratively across the organization. The Authorization Manager builds a knowledge base through analyzing communications, applications and reports from schools engaged in the global authorization process and uses this knowledge to advise internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for a portfolio of schools. Different aspects of a school will determine the portfolio, such as group of pertinence, region, needs, and complexity.
- Determine critical customer requirements and co-ordinate additional information or changes through existing structures and processes.
- Define, manage and ensure the realization of an annual plan for the assigned school authorization portfolio including planning and cost budget.
- Coordinate and align the Authorization for schools with internal IB stakeholders in regular organized meetings and ensure timely involvement and participation.
- Review applications and reports during Authorization and other sources to develop plans to support schools through candidacy.
- Act as a first point of contact for schools in order to build and maintain a strong relationship and monitor their developments and performance. Initiate actions in close collaboration with schools to continuously increase performance and results Act as a strong internal advocate for school needs, during authorization. Network and collaborate with relevant internal and external relations, stakeholders, partners, customers and organizations.
About you
• University degree
• Previous IB programme experience as educator, coordinator, etc.
• Familiarity with the key features of all four IB programmes and in depth knowledge of at least one.
• In depth knowledge of with the IB’s authorization process and the systems used.
• Familiarity with typical education systems and practices in public, private and international school systems.
• Impeccable written and oral communication skills in at least one IB language, and fluency in a second IB language is advantageous.
• Experience in working with not-for-profit entities.
• Willingness to work flexibly and to travel as required.
