Description
The Contracts Manager will lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors in the administration and review of procurement and contract management. This role involves reviewing contract documents, providing cost estimates on tenders, and preparing and monitoring project cost budgets and cash flows. The Contracts Manager will also oversee main contract progress claims and subcontract payments, resolve contract disputes, and ensure effective communication of contract-related information to all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors in contract administration and procurement management
Review contract documents and provide accurate cost estimates on tenders
Prepare and monitor project cost budgets and cash flows, tracking changes in design and construction work
Oversee main contract progress claims and subcontract payments, including variation claims
Resolve contract disputes and assess entitlement for extension of time and loss/expense claims
Ensure timely finalization of main and subcontract agreements and manage record keeping for all contract-related correspondences
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in contract negotiation, administration, and/or management
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
