A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

• Overall responsible for all permanent and temporary works design and design optimization by managing the appointed consultant to ensure that project is delivered within budget
• Responsible for handling client and consultant, coordinate with consultants, client and authorities for design matters and submission.
• Oversee the shop drawings submission and issuance, planning and control delivery of design schedule, monitoring the progress
• Coordinate and support the construction and other departments within the project to fulfil design requirement
• Resolve all technical queries and submit/raise Request for Approval / Information (RFA/I) to concern parties to clarify any ambiguous design details
• Review technical specifications and proposals submitted by Consultants / Subcontractors / Suppliers and produce procurement specifications
• Adherence to safety practices in the work place

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Education: Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university endorsed by PE Board or qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in delivering large scale projects

Job Description

• Lead a team of workers and sub-contractors to perform structural work on site.
• In-depth understanding of structural drawings, specifications, and requirements.
• Oversee structural works, and coordinate with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors on structural matters.
• Drawing list submissions, scheduling, structure handover, and coordination with Consultants and Construction Team
• Value engineering, review and approve C&S consultant’s drawings and in-house RC, structural steel, and architectural shop detail drawings.
• Site rectification and inspections.
• Resolving site issues with the Consultant, Construction/Structure Erection, and QA/QC team.

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil / Structural Engineering and above or equivalent qualifications.
• At least 5 years of related working experience in structural site site management.
• Preferred to have at least 2 residential/ commercial projects
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office, structural design and analysis software, and AutoCAD or Microstation
• Ability to prioritize tasks well and able to work independently

• To manage and to oversee the day-to-day construction activities of the project.
• To develop and formulate cost-effective plan for timely completion of project within the budget and to implement execution plan.
• Monitor the construction productivity, schedule, performance and investigate reasons for any unsatisfactory performance. To also provide recommendations and measures for improvement.
• Manage subcontractors’ works to ensure compliance with contract requirements and the quality of work. To monitor the quality of project delivery to ensure it meets the project requirements and regulations.
• Liaise with authorities, consultants and subcontractors for matters related to the construction of the project.
• Ensure that all workplace safety standards, rules and regulations are being complied at the construction sites and throughout the project.
• Responsible to site progress according to schedule set.
• To lead a site construction team in ensuring smooth execution of work.
• To ensure works carried out meet company’s quality standards & contractual requirements.
• To review and approve materials requisitions.
• Execute overall scheduling and specific planning work.
• Design, implement progress and schedule control systems for the project according to set requirements.
• Construction planning, and to co-ordinate with the client, sub-contractors, consultants and Authorities on all project aspects.
• Ensure safe work procedures and environmental control measures at site.
