Job Description:

Ensure accurate and timely financial management to enhance company profitability and return on investment. Coordinate with shared services for day-to-day financial operations, maintaining proper accounting records, and meeting reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly/quarterly/yearly closing for timely and accurate financial accounting.
• Review and approve monthly closing trial balance for reporting submission.
• Prepare/review monthly closing journal and accounts reconciliations.
• Review and sign off on monthly bank reconciliation, ensuring follow-up.
• Control chart of accounts, review consistency, and assist in annual policy renewal.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and support external audits.
• Handle GST and tax-related tasks, including quarterly returns and corporate tax computations.
• Implement and review financial controls, recommending new controls as needed.
• Provide financial analysis for projects/purchases and review tender submissions.
• Advise shared services and operations on financial matters and clarify practices.
• Assist in budget and forecast preparation and finalization.
• Review and coordinate insurance coverage for company assets.
• Manage IT matters, including implementing and testing new programs.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Main Purpose

Drives new business development from acquiring New Logo customers and/or leading business growth within an assigned portfolio of existing customers.

Main Responsibilities

§  Discovers, evaluates, and pursues new business opportunities within target industries and customer groups.

§  Identify growth areas within existing assigned accounts.

§  Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials.

§  Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, Economics, Financial or Marketing
• At least 1-3 years of proven experience in the relevant service/solution/industry (Translation/Medical/Life Science)
• Excellent in Prospecting, Negotiation, Meeting customer's expectation and Networking
• Good in Sales planning and Territory management
• It will be a good advantage if have regional (APAC) experience

• Assist Line Managers with the preparation of weekly flash report
• Prepare monthly P&L statements for the assigned services. Ensure team members complete the monthly closing for their services on time
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation and distribution of monthly reports to the management. These include regional P&L, commentaries, actual vs. flash variance analysis, actual vs. budget gap analysis, etc.
• Prepare schedules for balance sheet accounts related to cost provisions, unearned/ unbilled revenue, cost recoveries, stock and prepayments. Ensure appropriate actions are taken, and in a timely manner
• Liaise with external auditors on audit matters and manage the audit process
• Drive preparation of regional forecasts (quarterly) and budget (annually). This includes ensuring reasonable assumptions are used by Line Managers and the forecast/ budget is reflective of current conditions and business plan. Revenue and cost drivers are to be properly analyzed and presented to management. Ensure submission of reports within stipulated deadlines
• Being an effective business partner to the regional director and managers. Take pro-active steps to engage regional director and managers in understanding the performance drivers in greater depth, going beyond a pure reporting function. Drive value added analysis to provide useful business insights to support/ improve decision making
• Ensure efficient and effective operation of disbursements process – include ensuring disbursements are checked for accuracy, relevant supporting documents are submitted and verified, disputes are resolved promptly, monthly reconciliations are prepared and discrepancies are followed up, and any advances given are accounted for/ recovered timely
• Identify areas of improvements to existing processes/ systems. Take on lead role in system implementation/ improvement projects
• Other ad-hoc work or projects may be given from time to time

• Degree in Accounting with a CA/CPA qualification or its equivalent
• At least 4 years of relevant experience
• Possess audit experience with a big 4 accounting firm
• Experience in shipping is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong working knowledge of MS Excel
• Good team player and manager with capability to lead, develop and drive performance of the team members
• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
