• Tertiary qualification in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering/ Computer Science or a relevant discipline
• At least 3 years in software development and system integration
• Experiences in C++ application development
• Knowledge or work experiences in the following areas is an added advantage
• Java application development
• Web application using HTML/HTML5, JavaScript and JavaScript Framework (i.e. AngularJS, ExtJS, JQuery, Bootstrap)
• Interfacing with database (i.e. MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL) using ODBC/JDBC and SQL
• Multi-tier software architecture design and implementation
• Object-oriented software design and UML modelling
• Virtualization using Containerisation (e.g. docker)
• Applications development and deployment into Commercial Cloud (e.g. AWS)
• Application development for Desktops / Workstations
• Web services in Commercial Cloud (e.g. AWS)
• AWS Lambda Functions using Python or JavaScript
• Single Sign-on solutions (e.g. OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML)
• Secure communication (e.g. MQ, MQTT, SFTP, FTP-S)

Job Scope

•Preparing and setting up equipment/devices (e.g. micro:bit, simple electric circuits, sensors, solar panels, m5GO and other peripherals etc) for lessons.
•Carrying out checking, maintenance, and day-to-day running of the Smart Centre.
•Assisting trainers/ teachers in helping students.
•Ability to conduct workshops / training for students is preferred, this may include accompanying students for learning journeys, STEM competitions as assistant chaperone.
•Creating and monitor inventory/checklist of equipment/devices and ensure termly update of inventory/checklist.
•Recording and condemning damaged/missing/broken equipment.
•Assisting the school’s STEM Programme Committee to consolidate items to purchase into a procurement plan with inputs from both staff and students.

Supporting the school’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP) Committee in building a Maker Culture in the school, which includes:

•Supervising students in the safe and proper use of the Makerspace.
•Establishing policies and procedures regarding safety, security, training and access to the Makerspace.
•Working with the school’s STEM Programme Committee to manage the budget and resources for the Makerspace, including equipment, software and materials.
•Participating in the layout, installation and operation of equipment (e.g. 3D printers, laser cutters, Virtual Reality system).
•Assist in the safety and maintenance of equipment and tooling.
•Collaborating with the school’s STEM Programme Committee to support curriculum and programmes for the Makerspace.

Qualification, Skill & Experience:

• A polytechnic diploma, preferably in STEM-related disciplines with 3 years of relevant experience; those without a diploma and with relevant experience may also apply.
• Knowledge of processes, machines, fabricating techniques, and materials within a prototyping or manufacturing environment would be useful.
