Tasks & responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Provision of Security

• The primary role of a Security Officer is to protect life and property against pandemic crisis, theft, vandalism, misappropriation, fire, flood or similar disaster on assigned shift in compliance with government, corporate and management directives.

The successful incumbent will Assistant Director, Operations / Lead Reintegration Mentor in ensuring the smooth running of the daily operations at Selarang Halfway House (SHWH) or future new site at Cosford and is responsible for the safety and welfare of the residents and the overall security of the Halfway House premises. Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversee security screening to ensure contrabands are not brought into the house.

2. Facilitate the daily operational routine of SHWH or future new site:

a) Ensure the day-to-day needs of the residents and operational requirements of the halfway house are being met.

We are seeking for a Research Fellow for a term of one year to conduct high quality research. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a project centered around Large-scale Deep Learning Models (LMs), with a focus on learning theory and security of LMs from a physical perspective.

Job Responsibilities:

• To conduct independent research in large-scale deep learning models.
• To investigate the learnability of LMs from a physical perspective.
• To produce publications in top conferences and journals.
• To offer guidance and assistance to any students involved in the project.
• To collaborate with industrial and academic partners.
• To collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including experts in physics, mathematics, deep learning and other application domains.
• To perform any other duties related to the research program.

Job Requirements:

• Preferably PhD in Computer Science or relevant fields.
• Strong background in quantum machine learning or physics-based approaches to model learning, enabling the candidate to contribute physical insights into the learning and security of LMs.
• Strong publication record in top conferences/journals, such as Nature Communications, PRL, T-PAMI, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, and etc.
• Experience in interdisciplinary studies of deep learning, mathematics, and physics is preferred.
• Strong theoretical background in quantum learning theory, representation learning, and quantum computing.
• Good programming skills in Python. Familiarity with PyTorch or Tensorflow is a bonus.
• Proficiency of programming skill with quantum machine learning architectures, such as PennyLane, Qiskit, and similar platforms, is preferred.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks across projects and research activities.
• Showing excellent communication skills, and willingness to learn.
• Able to work under limited supervision and excel as an effective team member.
