About the Construction Manager Role:
A Construction Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. They manage resources, address any issues that arise, and liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Play a key role in the conceptual development of various construction projects, overseeing organization, scheduling, and implementation.
• Plan, lead, and monitor progress and performance against the project plan, managing day-to-day operations including manpower planning, construction progress monitoring, master schedule preparation, and cost control.
• Manage project costs within approved budgets, including materials, manpower, and machinery cost control for new and ongoing projects.
• Issue timely instructions to address delays or emergencies at construction sites.
• Review manpower planning and work schedules to ensure smooth operation and effective delegation of tasks, while enforcing safe and economical methodologies and project standards.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and all stakeholders to minimize errors and ensure smooth project completion.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, relevant authorities, and developers to resolve site issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Handle any other ad-hoc duties and tasks as assigned.
To succeed as a construction manager, you need strong leadership and project management skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Additionally, staying updated with the latest construction technologies and maintaining strict quality and safety standards are crucial for project success.
Key Requirements:
• Degree or Master’s in Engineering, Architecture or relevant discipline
• 7-10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
• Capable of working under stress and meeting deadlines.
