The WSH Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive workplace safety and health management system in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, regulations, and industry standards. The primary goal of the WSH Manager is to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors on-site by identifying potential risks, implementing preventive measures, and promoting safety awareness across the organization.

1. Develop, implement, and review the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance with local regulations, industry best practices, and organizational needs.
2. Maintain and ensure the continuous improvement of the SMS, including emergency response procedures, risk assessments, and hazard control measures.
3. Conduct audits to assess the effectiveness of the SMS and identify areas for improvement.
4. Ensure that all activities at the workplace comply with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and other relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering (preferably Civil or Environmental), Construction Management, or a related field.
• WSH Officer Certification
• Min 5 years of experience in a safety-related role in the construction industry
• Proven track record of managing and improving workplace safety programs.

5. The review of Main Contractor’s proposed method statement in the areas of risk assessment and safe working procedure, and to verify that they are properly executed on site.

• To keep up to date with changes in current legislation and to bring to the attention of the Project Superintending Officer(s) any relevant new legislation.
• To ensure the notification of the Project Superintending Officer(s) if the corrective action agreed after any workplace inspection is not implemented by the arranged date.
• To vet and endorse the minutes of all safety-related meetings and other meetings as directed by the Developer.
• To ensure the implementation and monitoring of appropriate safety measures in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act.

Requirement:

• Degree in Engineering, Workplace Safety & Health Discipline or related qualifications
• Graduate Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health ( Level -D)
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry preferably 5 years with developer/main contractor
• Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM and have been practicing as WSHO for at least 5 year
• Must be a registered Environmental Control officer and Earth Control Measures Officer.
• Good communication skills and team player

• Manage day-to-day technical operations, including attending daily toolbox meetings, compliance with WSHA.
• Respond to emergency fault calls during office hours/standby duties after office hours in rotating duty roster and ensure timely rectification of issues.
• Liase with users and authority to prepare and submit detailed work proposals for job requests.
• Prepare costing, condition assessment, and proposal for maintenance works.
• Responsible for inventory record, drawings, documentations and defect liability period registers.
• Compile and maintain service reports, licenses/certificates on site.
• Prepare and submit certificate of completion for maintenance works and services monthly, and prepare monthly claims.
• Supervise and follow up with sub-contractors to carry out corrective maintenance/adhoc works and to rectify defects reported by quality control/auality, assurance, auditor/users.
• Check and certify works done by sub-contractors.
• Perform any other technical tasks as and when required.

• Managing the day-to-day operations of projects to ensure theya re completed on time and within budget
• Communicating with architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and othe rparties involved in the project
