Job Summary
As the Safety Officer for the main contractor, you will report to the Project Manager and oversee safety protocols at the construction site. This includes conducting inspections, implementing safety measures, facilitating training, and ensuring compliance with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with WSH regulations.
- Risk Management: Perform risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate hazards.
- Training and Education: Organize safety training programs, toolbox meetings, and emergency response drills.
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents and near-misses, recommend preventive measures, and prepare reports.
- Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety procedures, liaising with MOM and other regulatory bodies.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and conduct regular site readiness drills.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of inspections, training sessions, incidents, and monthly safety performance reports.
- Communication: Act as the safety liaison between management and workers, fostering a culture of safety.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Valid WSHO (Workplace Safety and Health Officer) certification recognized by MOM.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of WSH regulations and site safety practices in Singapore.
- Proficient in report writing, record-keeping, and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
