We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Construction Project Director to lead and oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires a visionary leader with extensive construction management experience, financial acumen, and a deep commitment to quality and safety.

The Construction Project Director will play a pivotal role in driving project success, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that each project meets or exceeds expectations on time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all aspects of project planning, from initial budgeting and scheduling to implementation and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Provide strategic leadership and foster a culture of collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, engineers, and subcontractors, to achieve project goals while maintaining a high-performance work environment.
• Identify potential project risks and proactively develop solutions, ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations and standards, while minimizing delays and cost overruns.
• Manage project budgets rigorously by tracking expenses, negotiating contracts, and controlling costs to maximize profitability without compromising quality or safety
• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring transparent, effective communication throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure that all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance by conducting regular site inspections, reviewing plans, and verifying that all requirements are met.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by ensuring their vision and requirements are met, creating a foundation for repeat business and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in building works, with a preference for HDB experience
• Proven ability to manage teams and meet project timelines
• Strong crisis management skills
• Excellent communication skills and a team player

Job Descriptions:

• Familiar with and understanding all the tender requirements
• Exercise a collaborative plan and define the extent of the works
• Timely management of tender activities
• The general duty includes measurement of quantity, collection quotations, cost comparison, and participation in preparing tender price
• Review quotations with the designated specification
• Review quantities and cross-check for possible items that may have been overlooked
• Proofreading for tender responses to highlight areas for incorporation of quantity and ensure issuance to stakeholders to quote for works
• Price negotiations with subcontractors/partners.
• Review of cost impact (value engineering proposal/ variations)
• Able to manage/lead the team and assign tasks to the team members respectively

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of working experience in the local building construction industry. Main contractor experience is preferred
• Experience in tendering work.
• Sound computer literacy including advanced skills in Excel. Proficient in Cubicost Glodon will be a plus.
• Familiar with all types of building tendering will be advantageous
• Bilingual will be advantageous
