This role is responsible for ensuring that all construction projects meet specified quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations. The QC professional will monitor processes, perform inspections, and implement quality control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with quality standards.
- Review project designs, specifications, and plans to identify potential quality issues.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to resolve quality-related problems.
- Document and report quality issues and non-conformities, and track resolutions.
- Develop training programs for construction staff on quality control measures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain quality records and related documentation for audits.
- Conduct material and product testing to ensure compliance with standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in quality control practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in quality control within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of relevant quality control standards and methodologies (such as ISO, ASTM).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Quality Control or Quality Assurance (such as Six Sigma or CQI).
- Experience with construction software and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.
Work Environment:
- Fieldwork at construction sites with outdoor conditions.
- Occasional office work for documentation and reporting.
