Job Title: Accountant

Our client are a well-established construction company looking for a highly motivated and experienced Accountant. The role involves managing and maintaining the full set of accounts, ensuring effective project financial management, and providing key financial insights to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the full set of accounts for the company.
• Oversee the company’s project performance by delivering operational KPIs and liaising with internal Project Managers.
• Prepare quarterly reports, presenting financial results and status to stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Monitor and manage Work in Progress (WIP) for each project, ensuring that the revenue and costs related to ongoing projects are accurately recorded on a project-by-project basis.
• Play a key role in maintaining, analyzing, and forecasting project costs for both project teams and management, ensuring WIP is correctly calculated and reflected in financial statements.
• Actively contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes; review project forecasts and actuals, and explain and correct any variances monthly, including WIP adjustments.
• Regularly update WIP status to ensure correct recognition of revenue and expenses in line with project progress, ensuring accurate profit/loss reporting.
• Liaise with external auditors to conduct statutory and interim audits, ensuring WIP is accurately represented during audits.
• Continuously review and recommend improvements for project management and reporting processes, including WIP tracking and reporting.
• Present updated financial data during project management meetings to review cost status, including WIP reports.
• Review and process project payment requests and invoices for payment, ensuring they align with the WIP figures for proper revenue recognition.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Preferably with experience in the construction industry, particularly in project-based financial management.
• Knowledge of Work in Progress (WIP) accounting and revenue recognition methods on a project basis.
• Strong understanding of project cost management and financial reporting.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Ability to analyze financial data, forecast project costs, and prepare reports.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Senior Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the Project Manager on the progress of the projects/site works and manpower related aspects of the project. He/She is to oversee drawing management and make sure the updated drawings to the clients and subcontractor are issued. This also includes planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to make sure a project can be completed within budget and according to schedule, while upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans and adjusting specifications for elements of a project.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule work sequences for construction operation
• To study tender / construction drawings, specifications and contracts to understand project requirements
• Liaise with consultants, clients & main/sub-contractors and coordinate for site activities arrangement, design submission and work progress supervision
• Perform site inspection (excavation, structural, casting) and ensure that the work is carried out based on the project specification and construction drawing / final approved drawing from authorities
• Lead a team of supervisors / foreman for works coordination with main/subcontractors and/or authorities and/or consultant on project progress and technical issues
• Assist in preparation of method statement and construction sequence for project implementation
• Assist Project Manager in Project Costing, monthly progress claims and monthly progress report
• Support Quantity Surveyor (QS) in verifying progress payments and claims
• Coordinating the handing-over of completed works to the client and completion of the necessary rectification works

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possesses Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• At least 3-6 years of working experience in the related field is required
