Job Summary: As the main contractor’s Safety Officer, you will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant construction site. Job Description

i) To work with the PM to comply with environmental, health & safety (EHS) laws laws, advise PM on environmental remediation measures, carry out site inspections and to engage workers and stakeholders on maintaining good environmental health standards

ii) Work with the PM to draw up, implement and monitor effective environmental management plans, including reviewing them when necessary:

· Prepare & submit to the PM the Site Environmental Control Programme before work commences at the worksite.

· Minimum GCE ‘O’ Levels or Nitec

· Relevant experience in Construction materials, machinery and equipment.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

· Good presentation, communication & interpersonal skills.

· Work well under pressure and able to work independently.

Responsibilities:

Procurement:

• Providing prices for all materials included in project plans and drawings
• Identifying potential suppliers and new products
• Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials
• Ensuring the flow of materials to maximise efficiency
• Providing advice to the project estimator on the predicted cost of individual items
• Liaising closely with QS at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided

Administrative:

• Records of Assets and maintaining well‐organised work schedules for the stock take
• Contacting a range of suppliers and sub‐contractors to obtain quotations
• Collate survey report on the reliability of sub‐contractors and suppliers from project team
• Ensuring compliance with the specifications, safety, health and environment requirements of materials and services
• Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured
• Raising orders for supplies.
• Assist to keep track and record of organisation logistics and machinery needs
• Assist in daily coordination across departments

Responsibilities:

· To carry out General Construction Work at worksite

· To Operate Construction Machinery/Equipment at worksite.

Requirements:

· Have must Hydraulic Excavator Operation certificate

· Physical work required

· Able to start work immediately or within short notice is an advantage.
