The Application Engineer reports to Sales Director in Singapore. He/ She will support pre-sales and post-sales activities in SEA and India region. These could include joint visits with salespersons; preparing proposals according to customer’s requirements; liaising with vendors & sub-contractors, and project execution till commission. Other responsibilities include on-site survey; and product and application support.
The responsibilities of this role are:
- Understand customer requirements and provide technical advice to sales and customers.
- Presales technical service for internal and external customers.
- Review project specifications, clarify doubts on technical specifications, and provide technical engineering and sales support for customer projects
- Provide primary technical proposal according to the requirements of customers' enquiry and carry out necessary technical clarification with customers.
- Release drawings for BOM creation, costing and production
- Responsible for Project execution after PO was received.
- Assist in reviewing technical documentation in the system.
- Provide expertise advice to solve customer technical questions by phone or email.
- Business trip to provide onsite support to key projects.
- Support after sales.Onsite troubleshooting and provide technical advice to customers.
Quality complains. Facilitate RMA such as simple investigation, coordinate in-depth analysis with factory, 3rd parties to finalise closure.
- Provide product and technology training for internal and external customers.
- Support the new product certification and existing product certification renewal.
- Support marketing activities including technical exhibitions and seminars, catalog / brochure proofreading and marketing roadshow preparation.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering sciences, eg: Flow Control, Instrumentation or comparable qualification.
- Project Management Training (PMI certificate preferred).
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, time management and awareness of business and finance implications.
- Strong at innovation, initiative, professionalism, organizational and interpersonal skills, teamwork, integrity, accountability and a sense of urgency.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management and/or Process Automation
- Knowledge of Instrumentation Controls will be an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of CAD and related designing software.
- Able/Willing to travel frequently to customer sites.
