Overall Job Objectives

The Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) is a safety professional who has undergone stringent training in accordance with prescribed mandatory standards that govern the safety, health, wellbeing of human lives and business operative processes within a specified environment.

The WSHO shall possess solid fundamental knowledge of occupational safety, health and environment management and protecting such from harm and damages.

BELFOR is engaging a full time WSHO to oversee the vast aspects of our business operation ranging from its headquarter to the project worksites. The WSHO is charged with responsibility to ensure its operation is in compliance and running in accordance with the prescribed standard processes.

Your main role will be to ensure that our client comply with regulatory and safety requirements. You will be responsible for administering and coordinating the organization’s Workplace Safety and Health Management Systems, processes and policies. This will include conducting safety inspections, closing audit findings, reviewing workplace risk assessment and coordinating safety training for all personnel.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Enter, inspect and examine worksite for potential safety violations/hazards; (WSH Reg)
• Inspect and examine any machinery, equipment, plant, installation or article in the worksite for potential violations / hazards; (WHS Reg)
• Assess the level of noise, illumination, heat or harmful or hazardous substances in the worksite and the exposure levels of persons at work; (WSH Reg)
• Investigate any accident, dangerous occurrence or occupational disease that occurred within the worksite. Coordinate with management, customers and relevant authorities when an incident / accident occurred
• Employ risk mitigation strategies, and environmental and safety requirements for the business unit;
