The Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Group in NEA is the national authority for radiation protection in Singapore and serves to protect the public, radiation workers and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation. Its Regulation Division administers and enforces the Radiation Protection Act and Regulations through a system of licensing and inspections.

[What you will be working on]

As an Engineer/Executive Engineer of the Nuclear Science and Technology Department in the Regulation Division, the officer will be responsible for the following:

• Ensure that Singapore is able to fulfil its obligations under various international conventions and agreements on nuclear safety, security and safeguards
• Implement activities tasked by inter-ministry committee and its working groups
• Provide technical support and advice on nuclear safety, security and safeguards matters to relevant government agencies
• Monitor nuclear science and technology developments and provide technical assessment

Job Description

Team Leadership:

• Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of baristas.
• Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to ensure optimal coverage.
• Provide ongoing training and coaching to maintain high standards of service and beverage preparation.
• Foster a positive work environment, resolving conflicts, and addressing employee concerns effectively.

Customer Service:

• Greet customers and take their orders.
• Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu.

Beverage Preparation:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to the established recipes and standards.
• Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other equipment to brew coffee.

Maintaining Cleanliness:

• Keep the work area, including the coffee preparation and serving areas, clean and organized.
• Clean and maintain equipment such as espresso machines, coffee grinders, and brewing devices.

Stocking and Inventory:

• Monitor and restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies as needed.
• Keep track of inventory and report shortages to management.

Multitasking:

• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as taking orders, preparing beverages, and managing customer inquiries.

Requirements:

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and equipment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• 1 year experience as a barista is often preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods.

- Work independently under team manager

- Propose resolution steps for issues that may arise with clients

Requirements:

- A degree in accountancy and/or equivalent professional qualification

- At least 3.5 years of relevant experience from a professional services firm in an Business Process Outsourcing (Client Accounting) environment

- Proficient with accounting software

- Meticulous with good accuracy and attention to detail

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Good knowledge and understanding of Singapore requirements on accounting, GST and payroll
