SMART CAMP (Critical Analytics for Manufacturing Personalized-Medicine) is an interdisciplinary research programme in Singapore (CREATE international research campus and innovation hub) and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). • Ensure electrical installations and carpentry work are completed according to safety standards and event specifications.
• Review and interpret design plans and blueprints to execute setup and installation tasks.
• Oversee the installation of lighting, wiring, power outlets, and other electrical components for exhibitions and event spaces.
• Coordinate and assist with the construction of displays, booths, furniture, and other wooden structures as required.
• Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained, organized, and used safely.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with electrical systems or carpentry work during setup, live events, or dismantling.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and timelines.
• Communicate with clients, event planners, and other stakeholders to ensure expectations are met.
• Provide on-site training and guidance to junior team members when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
• Assist with the planning and logistics of event setups and breakdowns

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in electrical work and carpentry, preferably within the event or exhibition industry.
• Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and coordinating teams.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and carpentry techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and event plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required for events.
• A valid electrical or carpentry certification (depending on local regulations) is preferred.
