Are you an expert in fire safety systems with a knack for training and development? We are looking for a Marine Fire Safety Instructor to train company's technicians on the installation, maintenance, operation, and testing of marine fire safety equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver hands-on training sessions to company technicians on marine fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, suppression systems, and personal protective equipment.
• Develop and update training materials tailored to the specific needs of technicians, focusing on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure technicians are proficient in the use and upkeep of marine fire safety systems by conducting practical demonstrations and assessments.
• Stay updated on advancements in fire safety technology and international regulations to keep training content current and relevant.
• Monitor and maintain training equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
• Provide post-training evaluations and feedback to help technicians continually improve their skills.
• Maintain thorough records of training sessions, attendance, and assessment results for compliance and internal review.

Requirements:

• Certification in marine fire safety, fire protection, or a related field.
• Practical experience in installing, maintaining and testing marine fire safety systems.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including IMO and SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea).
• Excellent communication and instructional skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Proven ability to engage and effectively train technical staff.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate training records.

• Reporting to the Project Manager, plan and advise management on accident prevention, safe work methods, legal requirements affecting safety and health.
• Deploy Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) programmes.
• Ensure that all safety compliance and processes adhered to by all workers.
• Assist to manage and monitor site operation, workers and subcontractors.
• Able to communicate to all levels and attend to daily site meeting.
• Coordinate implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Conduct safety committee meetings and safety audits for management reporting.
• Ensure and conduct periodic toolbox meetings.
• Establish quality safety management policies and procedures.
• Ensure Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is applied within site at all time.

Requirements

• At least 5 Year(s) of working experience in building or civil construction industry preferably in HDB
• Self-driven and able to work within tight deadlines and shift work, if required
• A team player who is hands on and meticulous in his work

Job Description:

Acts as the first point of contact or link between the Office and the Masters of the ships under his care.

Provide navigation information and support to the ship staff.

Conduct scheduled Navigation, Mooring, Cargo and Bunker audit and internal audits to ensure alignment with the Company’s policies and procedures.

Carry out ship inspections, which will include a minimum of one port or sailing visit on board with the associated reports.

Assist in the selection of suitable Master, deck officers and ratings for ships under his care.

Monitor and assess the work performance of Master, deck officers to cultivate a high-performing culture.

Plan, coordinate and attend to new-building, delivery and sale of ships as and when required.

Understand the relevant rules, regulations, codes and guidance that relate to the job description of each rank.

Prepare and monitor the budget, expenses, purchases and cost control relating to the deck department.

Promote the health and welfare of ship staff.

Carry out other ad hoc duties assigned by the Management.

Guide master/ship staff for PSC / FSC / Rightship inspections etc.

Job Requirements:

Hold Certificate of Competency (Master – Unlimited with dangerous cargo endorsement (Oil & Chemical)

Preferably to have 2 years experiences as Master in bulk carrier.

Good communication skills in English

Able and willing to travel overseas to visit or sail with company vessels or other assigned vessels as and when required
