Roles & Responsibilities

1. Implement the organization’s SHMS at office and site to manage risks and prevent accidents.
2. Initiates, review and implement the workplace safety, health and environment programs and initiatives.
3. Enforcement of safety standards in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and ensure familiarity with any statutory changes or updates.
4. Liaise with MOM and other relevant authorities on WSH-related matters as applicable.
5. Conduct training programs on workplace safety and health and inspections to ensure that all staff and/or subcontractors onsite abide by policies and standards.
6. Lead a team of WSH Co-ordinators to ensure strict compliance of procedures in statutory workplace, safety, health & environment requirements at sites and required premises.
7. Preparation and/or submission of MSRA, safety reports and necessary audits.
8. Assist the company in safety related certifications and awareness such as safety audits, ISO & Bizsafe audits, etc
9. Attend client/consultant safety meetings/weekly coordination meetings & technical meetings.
10. Lead investigation and maintain records for every first aid case, accident and near miss at the work site.
11. Conduct emergency drills periodically.
12. Any other ad hoc duties assigned by management.
13. Must be a Singapore Registered Safety Officer/Workplace Safety & Health Officer with MOM.

The general scope of works includes but limited to,

• Developing and implementing health and safety policies in a workplace.

Job Scope:

Summary:

As the main contractor’s Safety Officer, you will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant construction site. Your duties include developing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, facilitating training programs, and fostering a culture of safety among all personnel. You will also liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and best practices.

Requirement:

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Valid Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification recognized by MOM, with additional certifications in risk management, fire safety, first aid, being advantageous.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of WSH regulations in Singapore.
• Excellent knowledge of construction site safety practices and legal requirements.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

Safety Protocols: As the main contractor's Safety Officer, you will implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring they are updated to reflect any changes in regulations or company policies. You will also liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM),

to guarantee compliance with all statutory requirements, reinforcing a commitment to safety at the Main Contractor level.

Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting regular drills to ensure site readiness.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, safety training

sessions, incident reports, and risk assessments. Prepare monthly safety performance reports.
